Folks, when you sign up on Denver Stiffs, you are required to sign-off on our guidelines. They can be breezed through or overlooked, so we just want to remind everyone of the guidelines here and we ask you adhere to them as the season is about to get underway. Andrew, Jeff, and I are glad you all are back (some never left) and look forward to talking Nuggets all season!
Here we go:
DenverStiffs.com is an independent website dedicated to the Denver Nuggets. Nuggets fans as well as fans of other teams are welcome here. Good-natured smack talk is acceptable.
Personal attacks will not be tolerated by any member. Have an opinion, state your case, disagree and debate, but be respectful of yourself and other members. Any comments that personally attack any other member will be deleted and the member warned, if it persists the member will be banned.
Any post or comment that refers to a player, coach, or other prominent figure within the franchise in a derogatory way will be deleted.
Sometimes comments can get heated, especially during games, so mild profanity is acceptable. Profanity directed at another member however, will not be tolerated.
FanShots and FanPosts allow you to create your story! Utilize them to make your points. This is your Nuggets community.
* Any FanPost or FanShot with vulgarity in the title will BE DELETED.
* FanPosts should be where you write your lengthy ideas/opinions.
* FanShots is where you can share Nuggets related links.
These rules go for everyone.
Sounds pretty straight forward and sensible to me.
Just the kind of community I’d like to be a part of.
I may not be as good-looking as the “cat,” but then neither am I a gurl.
I say it’s time to toss the ball up and lets play some basketball.
TakeFive - December 15, 2011
'I may not be as good-looking as the "cat," '
don’t you forget it either!
NugNugz - December 16, 2011
Noted.
Kevin L - December 15, 2011
Which words are classified as mild cussing?
Hell? Damn? ….Heck?
CloudBurst - December 15, 2011
And is mild cussing not allowed when it is not a game thread?
CloudBurst - December 15, 2011
Testicle.
Kevin L - December 15, 2011
What about Bollocks?
CloudBurst - December 16, 2011

The Greatest comedian EVER!!
Miss you George
SD_Nugget_Fan - December 16, 2011
Mild cursing doesn’t refer to which words,we just don’t want to see F-bombs all the time in every post.
These guideline posts are fairly regular on SB Nation sites, we haven’t posted it for a long time. Just keeping folks on the same page.

The JPage?
SDcat09 - December 16, 2011
So since we can't call Gallo.. you know
I guess I’ll just call him Rooster, or something..
CloudBurst - December 16, 2011
Guess that's make you a rooster booster!
TakeFive - December 16, 2011
Me think’s Gallo’s the exception.
Kevin L - December 16, 2011
It isn't what you think
I believe Jeffery said that we aren’t allowed to do it.
CloudBurst - December 16, 2011
Damnit.
Kevin L - December 16, 2011
If Mild is what I tihnk it is
Then you can’t say damnit, the d word is now Darn, F word is now screw, H word is now heck, and the C and other D word and P word as well is now Rooster.
CloudBurst - December 16, 2011
think*
CloudBurst - December 16, 2011
Tebowdarnit…..
Kevin L - December 16, 2011
It wouldn't be so bad
If it wasn’t everybody saying it and it wasn’t so juvenile.
I just expect more sophisticated humor from you guys. I mean, we are basketball fans, not soccer hooligans.
Fly Agaric - December 16, 2011
Here's something I found that's Nuggets-worthy
TakeFive - December 16, 2011
...
I wonder if Jameer would really be on that list if he didn’t have Dwight on his team showcasing his lobbing.
Happy that Miller gets recognition though, sucks that Wilson Chandler and JR Smith are in China. Those guys would be perfect targets for Miller on the 2nd unit…
ap3604 - December 16, 2011
Griffin with CP3 will be a very dangerous combo this year
I’m actually considering watching a few of their games this year.
CloudBurst - December 16, 2011
I was hoping he'd end up on an Eastern team so he could haunt the Knicks
But this could be interesting and it will be fun to have him out west.

TakeFive - December 16, 2011
So far so good, he looks happy.
Kevin L - December 16, 2011
CB looks happy,
that’s a good sign
moondoggie12 - December 16, 2011
That's good for Billups and CP3
I still think this current teams (with AAA) could handle the Clips.
SD_Nugget_Fan - December 16, 2011
However, there seems to be no rules regarding Gifs!
CloudBurst - December 16, 2011
AAA needs to sign the contract.
I wanna fire the party cannon again….
Kevin L - December 16, 2011
Whats the best website for gifs?
ap3604 - December 16, 2011
What about international languages?
Is foreign profanity allowed? ;)
amlmart1 - December 16, 2011
Yes.
I like to talk Russian when Moz is on the court, after all.
Fly Agaric - December 16, 2011
By the way, may I say that the Nuggets official site coverage of the team is totally crap compared with teams like the Wolves or the Blazers?
You guys should make a post about asking the Nuggets for improving the team coverage.
amlmart1 - December 16, 2011
Yea, I check out the official site just to see the video content.
Other than that, all other nuggets related coverage come from other sites.
moondoggie12 - December 16, 2011
I have a feeling Josh Kroenke would take that to heart
They seem to be doing more to be visible and communicative with the fans, so I’d hope that criticism wouldn’t fall on deaf ears if it’s coming from the fans.
Artimus Mangilord - December 16, 2011
KSE has in-house marketing, after all
Artimus Mangilord - December 16, 2011
Thanks for the reminder, Nate
I hope we haven’t been too awful of late. Should we assume that the borat mess was at least part of what prompted this reminder?
LongWindedHank - December 16, 2011
I'm guessing that and the other trolling and our general inability as a group to ignore it (myself included)
Artimus Mangilord - December 16, 2011
I missed the "boran mess"
But I think anyone who would take the screen name of Borat would clearly being intending to troll and be banned immediately.
ThrowItDownBigManThrowItDown - December 16, 2011
What about self deprecating?
What if I feel the need to insult myself on public board for all the strangers to see?
james b - December 16, 2011
Broncos joke!
After living a full life, Tom brady died
When he got to heaven God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a Patriots flag in the window. “this house is yours for eternity” said God. “This is very special; not everyone gets a house up here.” Tom indeed felt special and walked up to his house.
…
On his way up to his house he noticed another house around the corner. It was a huge 3 story mansion with orange an blue sidewalks and driveway, a 50 foot flagpole with a broncos flag waving, a huge horse shaped swimming pool, a broncos logo in every window and a Tim Tebow jersey hanging in the front door.
Tom look at God and said “I’m not trying to be ungrateful but I have a question.” I was an All pro QB, I won 3 Super Bowls and I even went to the Hall of Fame.
God said “so what’s your point Tom?”
“Well why does Tim Tebow get a better house than me?!”
God chuckled and said “that’s not Tim’s house, that’s mine!”
All Day Jay - December 16, 2011
I've found sth interesting in a supermarket.
Albafica - December 16, 2011
Gallo is the leading brand of the Spanishcorporate group of the same name.
Gallo was a pioneer in Spain in the use of hard wheat semolina as a raw material for making pasta, a common part of the Mediterranean diet.
According with a Gallo commercial “Gallo makes the diference”.
amlmart1 - December 16, 2011
Oh, I see!
I thought it was just a coincidence.
Albafica - December 16, 2011
I know, I just had to say something ;)
amlmart1 - December 16, 2011
"Gallo makes the diference"
is an innocuous and ambiguous enough slogan that the Nuggets might actually license that. CAN YOU FEEL IT?!?!!
Artimus Mangilord - December 16, 2011
Brilliant
SDcat09 - December 16, 2011
Why thank you
Or were you suggesting “Gallo makes the difference” is brilliant… ; )
Artimus Mangilord - December 16, 2011
I'm suggesting that the combined
use of Gallo Makes the Difference and CAN YOU FEEL IT…..is genius.
SDcat09 - December 16, 2011
'CAN YOU FEEL THE DIFFERENCE?!?!?!?'
…um, maybe…?
Artimus Mangilord - December 16, 2011
The difference...can you feel it?!
CloudBurst - December 16, 2011
Gallo is rather common last name in Italy, where
… I have lived for 30 years. Among many other things, one of the leading brands of rice is called Riso Gallo. it would be easy to organize a whole meal around various Gallo products, including, obviously, the wine.
Gallinari, in any case, actually would translate as “hen farmers”, so the shorter nickname is definitely more macho.
slader - December 16, 2011
Big thing I took away from this.
What’s a fanshot?
CombatChuk - December 16, 2011
haha, I like FanShots - read them all the time.
Nate Timmons - December 16, 2011
Fastest way to get something ignored
is to put it in a fanshot. Nobody ever reads them.
ThrowItDownBigManThrowItDown - December 16, 2011
This is a recworthy comment
SDcat09 - December 16, 2011
You are a recworthy......
poster.
Army of Nugs - December 16, 2011
lol I think SBNation would do well in a reformat
Where there’d be two columns on each side of the main stuff (Kind of like where the Stiff list is at now). I’m confident in saying that at least 75% of users here have a widescreen monitor so it’d look great and people would actually see fanshots (instead of the bottom of the main page)
CombatChuk - December 16, 2011
Refresh
Pusherman - December 16, 2011
Good refreshing of the rules
They will be upheld!

“Any post or comment that refers to a player, coach, or other prominent figure within the franchise in a derogatory way will be deleted.”
Does this mean we have to stop calling him Al “cheeseburger” Harrington?
Zachm219 - December 17, 2011 via iPhone app
You guys aren’t enforcing the rules. (look at my fanshot)
Bob in Boulder - December 17, 2011
Thanks for posting this...
I was recently banned from PurpleRow for saying what I feel is absolutely nothing offensive enough to warrant it. I did not call anyone a name, didn’t use any swear words, and didn’t belittle anyone. However, I dared disagree with the wrong person, got bullied, stood up for myself, and got a ban as a result. Totally arbitrary and capricious.
I think the guidelines are fair if applied properly. However, if a poster gets a reputation for being a bit negative about their team, as I was, and passiontately argues about their team’s (or its brainstrust’s) failings……I just found out the guidelines can be applied differently to that sort of fan. Andrew of this forum knows about how negative views carry risks……he of the “Fire George Karl” campaign of a few years ago. Andrew, look at my posts of a few days ago over at Purplerow and tell me I deserved to be banned based on the guidelines. I feel like Nene being charged into by one poster (JunctionRox), and instead of an offensive fould being called, I was whistled with my 5th foul, argued, and the ref kicked me out of the game. Instead, in this case, I was kicked out of the league. Shameless behavior by Purplerow moderators.
GoRoxGo - December 18, 2011
Honestly man, airing dirty laundry? Poor form
SDcat09 - December 18, 2011
Despite this reminder from Nate...
…things are pretty loose here, and we are all the better for it.
LongWindedHank - December 18, 2011
I think both blogs have their merits in how they are run.
SDcat09 - December 18, 2011
Have you ever protested in your life?
It’s a free country, and I don’t find it poor form to air my views on what I thought was unfair application of the guidelines over there. No, I’m not an “Occupy Wall St.” activist or anything like that. However, the tolerance level toward pointed conversations that are at all negative toward the team is just pathetic. I wasn’t really talking down to or being a jerk to anybody, and said nothing that should have been taken as personally offensive. Yet, that’s the message they sent to me from the ban. First ban of my internet life, so I suppose it’s a “badge of honor”.
GoRoxGo - December 18, 2011
Yes, because getting banned from a sports blog
equals the “Occupy” movement. It’s not quite the same thing. And privately run blogs exist at the rules and discretion of the proprietors. Send an email to the mods at PR about it if you feel that strongly about it. That’s all I’m saying.
SDcat09 - December 18, 2011
Say Hi to all my fellow "Rowbots" for me...
because you won’t see me there again.
