Seattle is in the works to build a new arena in case the kings decide to leave. The sonics would be back and I would get to see the nugs in person again twice a year!!!
Even if they take the Sonics name, they don’t get any of the records or anything, right? I thought all that belonged to OKC, so the new Seattle team would inherit all the Sacramento past stats and records and stuff.
or NBA TV, but the box score looks really good! I’m not sure how good either team looks but I know the Pacers are a really solid team, so this is great to see.
It just frustrates the hell out of me. It’s the defense preferred by a certain high volume shooter who used to play for our team, and it’s always struck me as just plain lazy.
hi guys, i’m an italian fan, i always read your blog but i usually don’t post ‘cause my english is so poor, as you can see.
But i have a question: why you always double team at the end of the games? It always kills you, i really really don’t get it.
Do you have an explanation?
that game was over, and two 3s by George on two double team could cost us the win.
Some days ago I was going to break my monitor for a Budinger dagger on a double team.
I don’t know, i’d prefer to see more defence one on one, since we have some pretty defenders in AAA, Brewer and Lawson. Maybe i’m wrong.
It was easy to write off his 20+ points in the loss to Golden State because a lot of it was at garbage time, tonight, he was hitting big shots and free throws, making buckets that mattered.
affIaIos benefitin from a bigger roIe on this team with guys out, so at some point depth kind of works against you when you dont get pt.
affIaIo is gettin back to Iast season, shouId he be a go to guy in games no, but his shot is comin back and he’s shootin wih more confidence, so at Ieast he’s an asset again.
ty was abIe to do what he wanted against IND, they didnt cIog the paint up very weII, hibbert is awfuI at heIp defense. anyways great win against a team with onIy 2 Iosses at home aIthough on a b2b. affIaIo shouId be abIe to buiId off of these Iast 2 games, ty did weII this game, but their perimeter defense was awfuI with jones and george, so idk if teams who are prepared to cIog the paint up, can ty stiII be as effective.
Not sure if I am more happy about the win.. or the fact that the Nuggets get 2 days off before Phoenix.. rest up guys.
Played with purpose.. except Dre turning into AC for awhile in the 2nd. But a win is a win… another road win for the Nuggets. This is a bizarro season.
I just do not care about celebrities. Dead or alive. It matters to me not.
But: it was weird how I picked up a stupid magazine at work today from last summer that was making a big deal about how overweight and terrible Whitney was looking. And then she dies later in the day. I can go weeks without thinking of her.
ESPN is saying that he will only sign a deal for the rest of the season when he comes back. So I don’t really want him back because he will take minutes away from Brewer. If he does come back, we should just sign him to the veteran minimum for the rest of the season
imo, brewer is a nice energy guy, but he's clumsey
i think chandler has a higher ceiling. He has an ability to take over offensively and has great length and toughness. I’d take ill will over brew all day
with you. We need an energy guy and brewer is that guy. He always rus the court and fights for offensive rebounds which most of the other guys don’t. I’m not going to pay Will a big contract to come off the bench. And if these rumors are true, he will leave denver at the end of they year. So I say stick with Brewer
Al? K2? What happens to our depth? Listen, I get just as frustrated as anyone when Nene fingerrolls instead of hammering it down, but he was the top big man on the market for a reason. Unlike AAA, a lot of teams wanted him, with good reason.
The fact is, with the 85 percent cap requirement, the Nuggets were going to have to overpay for someone before this season. And I’d have rather Denver overpaid for Nene, soft though he is, than for some unknown.
he hasn’t added anything new to his skill set and his FTs seem to be getting worse. i like him a lot as a dude, but he is certainly frustrating on the court.
Like the Infusion of Energy from Brewer, Manimal and Koufos
It seemed to energize the other guys. I thought Nene looked great until he was injured. Really like Ty’s aggressiveness tonight. The pace was terrific – - finally our Nuggs were running again. AAA is starting to look like AAA again. And, Brewer, Koufus and Manimal provied needed energy and enthusiasm. By the way, LOVED Manimal’s highlight worthy blocked shot and alley oop dunk.
they are being very wise and getting their second unit LOTS of playing time. Every time I see highlights or watch them it seems like it’s Danny Green, Splitter, of Kawhi Leonard making plays. i think Pop is smart for developing these guys
They shot 120% and we are still tied
good sign

I may expand to Boysenberry however
Jeffrey Morton - February 11, 2012

SDcat09 - February 11, 2012
miller clearly either got chewed out or did some soul searching at half.
Rainbow skyline - February 11, 2012
I don't usually buy the veteran-rookie stuff about attitude and experience and what not
but in this case, I think it does speak to Miller’s veteran-i-ness that he’s turned it around so much in the second half.
EmersonCR - February 11, 2012
OT
Seattle is in the works to build a new arena in case the kings decide to leave. The sonics would be back and I would get to see the nugs in person again twice a year!!!
james b - February 11, 2012
Only thing I was wondering about that
Even if they take the Sonics name, they don’t get any of the records or anything, right? I thought all that belonged to OKC, so the new Seattle team would inherit all the Sacramento past stats and records and stuff.
Agaliarept - February 11, 2012
Yeah I think the same thing happened with Ravens browns?
james b - February 11, 2012
Nugs actually outrebounding their opponent.

Okay...just asking :(
SDcat09 - February 11, 2012

hi!
hi guys, i’m an italian fan, i always read your blog but i usually don’t post ‘cause my english is so poor, as you can see.
But i have a question: why you always double team at the end of the games? It always kills you, i really really don’t get it.
Do you have an explanation?
Anyways, great AAA and good win!!
ArturoVidal - February 11, 2012
Two words
George Karl
Jeffrey Morton - February 11, 2012
You English

EmersonCR - February 11, 2012
And my English, apparently
you = your
EmersonCR - February 11, 2012
Probably most of us
SDcat09 - February 11, 2012
Welcome!
SDcat09 - February 11, 2012
no we don't have an explanation
Rainbow skyline - February 11, 2012
Eh?
Tonight I think a double team on West would have helped.
Brewer was just too small; West backed him all the way to the hoop for an easy bucket.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
yes but
that game was over, and two 3s by George on two double team could cost us the win.
Some days ago I was going to break my monitor for a Budinger dagger on a double team.
I don’t know, i’d prefer to see more defence one on one, since we have some pretty defenders in AAA, Brewer and Lawson. Maybe i’m wrong.
ArturoVidal - February 11, 2012
Denver played more zone tonight which is one reason why they were not as tired.
Let one guy be 10-11, he can’t win it all by himself.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
For the most part I agree
But any time a player is getting backed down toward the rim, I think you have to send another defender. I’d rather chance a three than a certain two.
Totally remember that Buddinger dagger. That was killer.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
mission sweep the east

TyLawesome - February 11, 2012

TyLawesome - February 11, 2012

samdman - February 11, 2012
Afflalo and Lawson
Combined to go 18-28 for 50 points.
EmersonCR - February 11, 2012
I'm so happy to see Afflalo getting better.
SDcat09 - February 11, 2012
Maybe he got some therapy or something
I don’t think his problem was physical. I bet he got in touch with a Ball whisperer.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
Yeah
It was easy to write off his 20+ points in the loss to Golden State because a lot of it was at garbage time, tonight, he was hitting big shots and free throws, making buckets that mattered.
Who still wants to trade him?
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
I never did, I was joking about that.
But I still think he’s overpaid.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
I never did. And as Russscot pointed out
can’t trade him anyway.
SDcat09 - February 11, 2012
I think we could in May.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
I don't think so....but read Russscot fan shot.
SDcat09 - February 11, 2012
We can't trade him this year.
Per the new collective bargaining agreement, he signed too late.
Russscot - February 11, 2012
Him and Charmin
Hell AC had a couple of good games when he played for the Nuggets.
samdman - February 11, 2012
not really and please never speak his name again
Danteslion - February 11, 2012
The problem is, he really only had two good games.

0-1 on making critical passes
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
affIaIos benefitin from a bigger roIe on this team with guys out, so at some point depth kind of works against you when you dont get pt.
affIaIo is gettin back to Iast season, shouId he be a go to guy in games no, but his shot is comin back and he’s shootin wih more confidence, so at Ieast he’s an asset again.
ty was abIe to do what he wanted against IND, they didnt cIog the paint up very weII, hibbert is awfuI at heIp defense. anyways great win against a team with onIy 2 Iosses at home aIthough on a b2b. affIaIo shouId be abIe to buiId off of these Iast 2 games, ty did weII this game, but their perimeter defense was awfuI with jones and george, so idk if teams who are prepared to cIog the paint up, can ty stiII be as effective.

SDcat09 - February 11, 2012
what happens..
when you pose for the cameras so much..
djyoung71 - February 11, 2012
A little confused...
Not sure if I am more happy about the win.. or the fact that the Nuggets get 2 days off before Phoenix.. rest up guys.
Played with purpose.. except Dre turning into AC for awhile in the 2nd. But a win is a win… another road win for the Nuggets. This is a bizarro season.
djyoung71 - February 11, 2012
I'm most happy about AAA
SDcat09 - February 11, 2012
Yes...
If he has found his game then Nuggets are helped alot.. !
djyoung71 - February 11, 2012
Harrington needs rest.
Some idiotic coach played him 36 minutes even though he was 0-6 for FG and I think 3-17 overall.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
Who else to play???
Especially when Nene went down?
djyoung71 - February 11, 2012
This
Harrington certainly struggled. But with no Nene, his length is critical.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
Anyone who could shoot at least 1-6 from downtown would have been an improvement.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
No argument there..
He needs to find his shot again. Rest will help him.
djyoung71 - February 11, 2012
He's old for an NBA player.
Playing him that much risks an injury and losing him for good.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
Still pulled down 6 rebounds, blocked 2 shots
And played average defense. Which is good for Al.
If you want to be critical on Karl for playing his best, tallest player when Nene is down, you are trying too hard to be critical.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
Nobody can ever disagree with you
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
That's not true
I’m just really good at debating because I have facts on my side.
:)
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
This team needs the rest
even with the win tonight.

TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
we'll have to give the rooks some more looks
InboundingLobPass - February 11, 2012
Nene is a big piece for this team
but I’m excited that Faried will get more run in his absence
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
Bummer
Can’t catch a break. More time for Kenneth.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
DAM INJURIES!
TyLawesome - February 11, 2012
I think we are better when he plays less minutes.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
Nene play good tonight.
His defense was key to the 2nd Q comeback.. He is will be missed.
djyoung71 - February 11, 2012
How great was it to see AAA awakening and
Brewer back and doing what gallo is depended on for?
sgiustra - February 11, 2012
AAA
I gotta give this dude some props. i’ve been really hard on the guy and he showed up and played like the AAA we all love tonight
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
So the Nuggets are still undefeated against Eastern Conference Teams?
CombatChuk - February 11, 2012
Yes
Basketball reasons.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
F'ing hysterical
sgiustra - February 11, 2012
I wish
we could just play eastern conference teams
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
We'd be 56-10
CombatChuk - February 11, 2012
Well, see you guys later.
SDcat09 - February 11, 2012
Off Topic
I just saw Whitney Houston was found dead.
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
o rly?
CombatChuk - February 11, 2012
we all know
TyLawesome - February 11, 2012
my bad
I was watching the game and not participating in the thread
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
Don't apologize
Get snarky back. Don’t let these jerks push you around.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
They're both dead now...
InboundingLobPass - February 11, 2012
Yawn
I just do not care about celebrities. Dead or alive. It matters to me not.
But: it was weird how I picked up a stupid magazine at work today from last summer that was making a big deal about how overweight and terrible Whitney was looking. And then she dies later in the day. I can go weeks without thinking of her.
Neener neener!
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
Who is she?
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
Crackhead
don’t worry about it.
ruralnugs - February 11, 2012
Ok.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
yeah and she fucked up Bobby Brown
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
That's like saying Nancy fucked up Sid.
pretty much a mutual screwing
Russscot - February 11, 2012
True
but I liked Bobby brown more. At least he had a good song
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
and one hawt hairdoo
Russscot - February 11, 2012
Who's Nancy and Sid?
samdman - February 11, 2012
Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols, and his gf Nancy
Russscot - February 11, 2012
she had a great voice though
back in the day.
InboundingLobPass - February 11, 2012
I looked them both up. Now that I found them on wiki...
I still don’t know who they are, lol.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
I makes to much money to do crack
" crack is wack" Whitney Houston
samdman - February 12, 2012
At least the streak is over…..
Kevin L - February 11, 2012
agreed lesbian durant
TyLawesome - February 11, 2012
i think im supposed to be lesbian durant
Kevin #3 - February 11, 2012
I thought the L was for lesbian
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
Me too.
Besides, it was Ty Lawesome who came up with the Kevin differentiators.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
x
Kevin L - February 11, 2012
lesbian durant is white?
TyLawesome - February 11, 2012
you're future durant
who only has half a body
TyLawesome - February 11, 2012
my bad
Must have misread it
Kevin #3 - February 11, 2012
Future half lesbian durant.
ThrowItDownBigManThrowItDown - February 11, 2012
Any a new one is about to begin!
Let’s go streaking!
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
mission 10 game winning surge back to the 2 seed
TyLawesome - February 11, 2012
I laughed at Cat
For predicting a 5-0 road trip. So. No more laughing at what seems to be impossible.
Why not? Gonna be tough sans Gallo.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
Corey Brewer
I’m proud of this guy. He really brought the energy tonight and lifted this team to the W. I don’t even know if I want Chandler to come back
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
i was never sold on wilson's game either
i wonder if this whole “i want to come to denver” shtcik is just because he can’t play with anyone else but us for the rest of this season
Squito - February 11, 2012
Wilson Chandler
ESPN is saying that he will only sign a deal for the rest of the season when he comes back. So I don’t really want him back because he will take minutes away from Brewer. If he does come back, we should just sign him to the veteran minimum for the rest of the season
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
ESPN likes to mix up the cocktail
if you know what i’m saying. trade rumors and such
TyLawesome - February 11, 2012
it might be true
I just don’t want Chandler to take minutes away from Brewer
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
imo, brewer is a nice energy guy, but he's clumsey
i think chandler has a higher ceiling. He has an ability to take over offensively and has great length and toughness. I’d take ill will over brew all day
TyLawesome - February 11, 2012
And I will disagree
with you. We need an energy guy and brewer is that guy. He always rus the court and fights for offensive rebounds which most of the other guys don’t. I’m not going to pay Will a big contract to come off the bench. And if these rumors are true, he will leave denver at the end of they year. So I say stick with Brewer
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
Nate Robinson is coming to Denver?
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
Yeah
we trade Nene and Gallo for him
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
Excellent!
We need another shot guy!
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
starting 5
pg-ty
sg- robinson
sf-Dre
pf- AAA
C- brewer
gk is drooling
TyLawesome - February 11, 2012
That would be a good line up
For a high school basketball team.
A 6’8" center in high school will win you some games.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
Starting five
Ty
Robinson
Dre
Stone
AAA
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
I like that except maybe Stone is too tall.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
trade for AC
you know you’d green light that trade GK
Squito - February 11, 2012
AAAAACCCCCCCCCCeeeeeeeee!
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
ok then sign
Aaron brooks when he comes back from china
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
HAHA
smallest backcourt ever. unless we can get boykins back
Squito - February 11, 2012
and Mugsy!
Russscot - February 11, 2012
let's call spud out of retirement while we're at it
Squito - February 11, 2012
I think, just to make the fans happy,
we should resurrect Manute Bol to play the point.
Russscot - February 11, 2012
haha. he was a good dude
read an article about all the charity work he did. not quite to the extent of dikembe but he did a lot.
Squito - February 11, 2012
very giving man, from what little I know
Russscot - February 11, 2012
say it ain't so
Squito - February 11, 2012
who is watching knicks vs twolves?
Squito - February 11, 2012
Hey guys
The Nuggets won!
Jeffrey Morton - February 11, 2012
\o
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
Yay!
Russscot - February 11, 2012
TyLawesome - February 11, 2012
Is AAA back? credit it kufous for key tip ins that softy wouldnt have gotten
5baker5 - February 11, 2012
I don't feel Nene has been consistently as soft this year as in years past.
And he was very aggressive tonight before he got hurt.
Russscot - February 11, 2012
Nene
He is still soft. He still misses easy layups
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
Yeah
K2 is quietly playing some very solid center for this team.
Really glad Denver has him locked up.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
I love the energy K2 is bringing
However I can’t wait until Mozgov gets back
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
Yes
Moz definitely deserves to be the starter. But K2 needs to play more back-up minutes at center.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
I agree
with you fly
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
7 points and 7 boards
I like that guy a lot.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
ya nene was tough tonight, but still wouldnt get the tip ins
K2 has been solid
5baker5 - February 11, 2012
Sorry if there was confusion
I was talking about Kufos. I really like him.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
So Nene's hurt again?
Good thing he’s not soft.
ruralnugs - February 11, 2012
being injured =/= being soft, imo
Russscot - February 11, 2012
Just like don't squeez the Charmin
samdman - February 11, 2012
They sent him to urgent care
He got a pink panties wedgie that has to be removed.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
I'm disappointed
in Nene. we should have just let Houston overpay for him
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
Just think
if we didn’t sign Nene, we would have a shitload of money to spend in free agency this offseason
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
We are in a minority here but I agree with you.
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
probably would have been a longshot
but I think we could have lured Dwight Howard here
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
stop
Rainbow skyline - February 11, 2012
And I would argue,
that if we hadn’t signed him, we wouldn’t have nearly as many wins this year.
Russscot - February 11, 2012
And I would disagree with you
I think we would still be in the same position we are now
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
with who, exactly, playing PF?
Al? K2? What happens to our depth? Listen, I get just as frustrated as anyone when Nene fingerrolls instead of hammering it down, but he was the top big man on the market for a reason. Unlike AAA, a lot of teams wanted him, with good reason.
Russscot - February 11, 2012
You're right
But this won’t stop the criticisms of Nene.
The fact is, with the 85 percent cap requirement, the Nuggets were going to have to overpay for someone before this season. And I’d have rather Denver overpaid for Nene, soft though he is, than for some unknown.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
I know
but I just am mad that I have to see his softness for the next five years
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
He was the top big man because
It wasn’t a really good free agen class
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
Didn't say it wasn't
But you’re still not addressing my point. Who would you want, that we could have had on the roster, to play his minutes at PF?
Russscot - February 11, 2012
*was
Russscot - February 11, 2012
I know what you're saying
I just think we overpaid for him. that’s all
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
fair 'nuff
Pretty sure we paid what we had to to keep him. Might be too much…we’ll see.
Russscot - February 11, 2012
and we will see
when playoff time comes
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
We did
And I’m OK with that. Nene is a solid 15 and 8 guy on offense and a very underrated on-the-ball defender.
It annoys me how help defenders usually rack up the defensive stats.
Nene isn’t as good a defender as K-Mart, but he’s damn close.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
See Russscot this is what I was fishing for.
ruralnugs - February 11, 2012
And I failed!!!!
OH NOES!!!! :p
Russscot - February 11, 2012
I had to say it!
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
i think we've seen the extent of nene's game
he hasn’t added anything new to his skill set and his FTs seem to be getting worse. i like him a lot as a dude, but he is certainly frustrating on the court.
Squito - February 11, 2012
Yeah
and he misses all these easy layups
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
that's when i yell at the TV the most
Squito - February 11, 2012
OT: they just said the target center had its 4th largest crowd ever
all to see linsanity. that’s sad for the minny fans.
Squito - February 11, 2012
Lin
The kid is a beast. Kobe Bryant disresepected him and he went out there and shitted all over the Lakers. i like the guy because all he does is Lin
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
He is a Linner
georgekarl - February 11, 2012
huge FTs coming up for the Linner
Squito - February 11, 2012
Especially since Love and Rubio
Are a pretty good story on their own.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
and the fact that KG played there for EONs
and those teams with sprewell and sam i am cassell were pretty good
Squito - February 11, 2012
Good point
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
i'm not familiar with minneapolis, but is there a large Asian contingency there?
maybe that’s why the attendance is up tonight?!?
Squito - February 11, 2012
Probably
And you will no doubt see a similar bump in attendance anywhere the Knicks play on the road.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
Fucking sneaky ass shit Kroenke
Switching to the Avs game after the locker room interview…
TOO SMART FOR THAT
CombatChuk - February 11, 2012
Like the Infusion of Energy from Brewer, Manimal and Koufos
It seemed to energize the other guys. I thought Nene looked great until he was injured. Really like Ty’s aggressiveness tonight. The pace was terrific – - finally our Nuggs were running again. AAA is starting to look like AAA again. And, Brewer, Koufus and Manimal provied needed energy and enthusiasm. By the way, LOVED Manimal’s highlight worthy blocked shot and alley oop dunk.
ACEIII - February 11, 2012
we moved up to 6th seed with the WIN
currently slated to play the spurs if the playoffs started now
Squito - February 11, 2012
Eeek!
That is probably the No. 1 match up I’d like to avoid. OKC will be tough, too. But Poppovich is a genius.
Fly Agaric - February 11, 2012
I think
we would beat the Spurs in five or six
TheMozgovCocktail - February 11, 2012
i have no idea how we'd do against the spurs
they are being very wise and getting their second unit LOTS of playing time. Every time I see highlights or watch them it seems like it’s Danny Green, Splitter, of Kawhi Leonard making plays. i think Pop is smart for developing these guys
Squito - February 11, 2012
Recap up
