Denver Nuggets Lineup Changes With Nene And Mozgov Out

(SB Nation Denver, Russ Oates) Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl confirmed on Tuesday that the team will be without Nene and Timofey Mozgov for the night's game against the Phoenix Suns.

Kosta Koufos has been starting in Mozgov's place, on occasion, since the ankle injury while rookie Kenneth Faried has seen increased playing time in February as a result of Nene's injuries -- this time a calf strain. Faried had 8 points and 10 rebounds against the Golden State Warriors a couple of games ago, both career highs.

Star-divide

Danilo Gallinari is out for at least a month with an ankle injury, which means Corey Brewer, who is now back with the team, should pick up starts at small forward. Arron Afflalo, who could play small forward, stays at shooting guard after dealing with his own injuries recently.

First

Nice to see Karl sticking with this lineup for tonight’s game with all the injuries. I love the energy K2 and Faried bring to the team. Also, love to see Brewer remaining the starter at small forward while Gallo is out.

Its the right starting lineup.

With Al, Dre, Rudy and Bird coming off the bench we should be ok tonight. Bird usually plays much better at home. Would still like to see Hamilton get some run to back up Brewer. Nugs are rested and Suns in the middle of a b2b2b so no excuses tonight.

Who's going to score?
If we (are able to) run...

then everybody. If we end up trapped in a half court game, I have no idea :p

Redd, Nash… Oh, you meant who’s going to score for the Nuggets??? Answer: the bench.

AAA, Ty, and Brewer

scored pretty well last game. They earned another start.

Ty was the leading scorer last game.
You sure nailed my question

Wish I had a better answer.

anyone can score against the suns
I cannot wait for the day Nene/Moz/Gallo/Chandler are all available to play

soon stiffs…soon

lets just escape February

with our heads and I’ll be happy

yep...started well, hit a wall

Would rather be running on all cylinders in March/April to be strong going into the plays. Yes it is a shortened season, but it isn’t college either and still a lot of games left to go and we could still end up in the upper half of the conference if healthy and playing the right way.

strong going into the playoffs
Good to see GK giving the rookie another start
