In a bit of news that comes as a shock to no one, it looks like the Nuggets are actively shopping Chris Andersen before the March 15th trade deadline according to Marc Stein from ESPN.com. This is both expected and sad for Nuggets fans as Andersen was such an energizing force for the Nuggets in their 2008-2009 Western Conference Finals run.
What will the Nuggets get back for him? Unless he is packaged with another player I'm not seeing much.

this will significantly lower our tattoo ranking
Sad to see him go, K2 is the future though.

k2 has proved himself... bird has played good lately... end of an era in nuggets land

Wilson Chandler will fix that

Bird was always overrated
He had one good year when we went to the WCF, other than that he was just popular because of gimmicks (hair, “bird”, tats, white)
abaca15 - February 17, 2012
Well, and he's a pretty good guy, too.
He’s had such a great story in getting himself together and out of the drug funk and into being a respectable NBA’er.
neumdaddy - February 17, 2012
I agree with this.
Not that I don’t believe in giving someone a second chance but why does he get an attaboy for not being a drug user anymore. How about all the guys who were never drug users, maybe they should get attaboys.
Anyway, birdman has had really only one very good season in the nba.
georgekarl - February 18, 2012
I'd be okay with a straight dump
Even give up a 2nd rounder if that’s all it really took to get a deal done.
Nothing personal against ‘The Birdman,’ as he’s had some good times as a Nugget, but we have too many young big’s that need the playing time to justify him eating up minutes imo.
While we are at, do the same with Harrington. Both will take up over $11 million of cap the next couple seasons, while being mediocre talents that delay the development of other players on the team. Again, nothing personal but it seems like he’s reverted back to “Bad Al” again, not even hitting at a 40% rate during our slide down the standings.
Giving him a start is a joke.
nugzin2040 - February 17, 2012
Start is a birthday gift from Karl
Army of Nugs - February 17, 2012
Really?
smh
nugzin2040 - February 17, 2012
wait why isnt faired starting? harrington has been slumping
5baker5 - February 17, 2012
Today is Big Al's birthday
So Karl gave him the Start
Army of Nugs - February 17, 2012
i don't see any reason to just dump him at this time
he’s still a big body we can put out there when guys get injured. he’ll play well occasionally too, he’s not a complete stiff.
just continue playing Koufos and I’ll be satisfied. dumping him midseason for nothing serves no purpose.
skithebert - February 17, 2012
seems like that's what the Nuggets intend to do
unless there’s a “package” out there with Bird included
Jeffrey Morton - February 17, 2012
It may well serve a FO purpose
We would only see that post-trade, don’t you think?
I’ll miss the guy. Wish he could have kept contributing at the level he once did, though if I remember correctly, plenty of observers were skeptical when he got that last contract, which was pretty lucrative for such a player as Birdman.
Hey, how’s that last sentence for living up to my new moniker?
LongWindedHank - February 17, 2012
Its not for nothing. I think they are making cap space
Probably for someone who is only marginally better than birdman.
georgekarl - February 18, 2012
They'll see if any desperate team jumps
if they get nothing they may very well keep him. A lot of players are on the trading block prior to the deadline.
Phil H. - February 17, 2012
Wouldnt expect him moved any time soon
My guess would be post ASG, when teams are trying to get stuff done and need salary filler on other trades
Kevin #3 - February 17, 2012
A Miller/Bird package in the works?
something tells me Masai is about to pull something great off…..
JBnuggs - February 17, 2012
Miller/Bird for Dwight?
If anyone could do it, its Masai
Army of Nugs - February 17, 2012
hell to the yes
JBnuggs - February 17, 2012
get him to throw ryan anderson for buckets in and its a deal
Kevin #3 - February 17, 2012

InboundingLobPass - February 17, 2012 via mobile
FINALLY! some ray of hope.
Mancar - February 18, 2012
Somebody call Sacto...See what they want for Cousins.
Bird, Moz pick(s) and filler? would that work? would anyone here or there do that?
Mancar - February 18, 2012
We should start a petition to keep the bird
I’d really hate to see him go he’s such a big part of the identity of the nuggets. One thing that has always been my favorite part of being a nuggets fan was all the characters that Denver has had on it’s teams. I can truly tell you from the players that have come and gone it’s bird I’ll miss the most.
tknuckle - February 18, 2012 via mobile
I agree
Also he is very prominent in the community. He really is a good guy, and deserves to retire where he turned his life around. He will be missed…also can we start calling kosta koufos bosley? (see link—www.bosley.com/)
