But I’ve learned long ago to take his tweets with a grain of salt. As with most of the NBA twittersphere. Definitely a fun group of people, but trolls quite a bit.
I like Chandler as a player, I’m still undecided on whether or not to trade him. I was just referring to how Chandler sort of collapsed in the final quarter of every game for us in the playoffs last year.
how many more close games will this team fail to win before the organization realizes it is on the coach to prepare his team for these situations?
No execution in the half court, offense or defense. This team is going nowhere with Karl as coach, look at how we have repeatedly failed in crunch time situations over the last 8 years.
No, only the people overreacting at the refereeing. We lost this game for more than the reffing. It’s a useless complaint, every single time. Maybe in isolation, for a specific call, but sweeping statements about it get old.
What difference does it make if we do complain about officiating?
I’ll bet I can go to every single SB Nation basketball blog and there will tons of complaints about the officiating. It’s really not that big of a deal.
No I didn't say that at all. But good attempt at putting words in my mouth.
I think telling people in a game thread to not complain about officiating when it does actually directly impact a game as much as bad play, poor coaching decisions etc is pointless.
I know you’re saying that it doesn’t make a difference either way – either complaining about the refs, or complaining that the complaining needs to stop. I’m not going to reiterate my complaint dozens of times during a single game, the way the former complaint gets hurled around many times.
I’m trying to distinguish a difference here, which is to say, I think my observation is more meaningful.
Actually saying that I am "implicity conceding" is trying to misconstrue
what I AM actually saying about this subject.
I AM saying here clearly to YOU that fans complaining about the officiating is fair in a game thread. There should be no limitation to how much people complain about it during a game thread because every play has the potential to elicit a poor call or unfair calling of games.
So I'm wrong about observing ("out loud") that complaining about the refs is lame?
Difference of opinion, then. And you could stop with the insult-slinging. I don’t care if me repeating that makes me look like a “horse’s ass” in your opinion.
I am actually a Nuggets fan. And it’s actually merely an observation when pointing out to people that blaming the refs won’t get you anywhere. That is not even close to trolling. It only pisses people off who actually believe the refs cost us the game – which is just, well, a difference of opinion (and IMO, untrue).
When people start outlashing at your comment about not blaming the referees right as the Nuggets lose in heartbreaking fashion, you respond to them with the following:
I think the "lashing out" at my comment is kinda crucial to this exchange.
Because my comment did not merit being “lashed out” at, regardless of how emotional people were during this crushing loss for MY team.
So no, none of my sarcastic responses – to people merely telling me to STFU without actually bothering to respond to the content of my post beyond that – constitutes as trolling.
It’s clear to me you’re going to remain disrespectful, remain a total and complete dick, and you’re never going to realize you’re wrong because in your version of reality, because you don’t understand how emotion works.
Do you know why nobody bothered the respond to the content of your post beyond that? BECAUSE THEIR FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM JUST LOST IN HEART-BREAKING FASHION. They’re not going to be reasonable, they’re going to be emotional! You’re an idiot for not understanding that and an arrogant prick for continuing this way.
Nothing I post on some blog is going to change that. Good luck in relationships, man. You’re going to need it if you’re this stupid with emotion.
Bwahahaha. "Good luck in relationships, man" That's rich.
Because things posted on “some blog” certainly reveal a lot about character, don’t they? Hey, can I make the same sweeping generalizations about you as a person, too? About how your inability to recognize that my post was more interested in discussing what the Nuggets can do to win these games instead of taking the easy way out and blaming the refs? And that my refusal to accept being called an a-hole because of some sarcastic replies to name-calling, while the actual name-callers get a pass “because of their emotions?” Oh, I understand how people can be emotional, but that hardly excuses people from name-calling. That you think I’m the disrespectful one in the midst of a crushing loss around internetters who have no idea how to properly vent themselves is very telling. Or, maybe it’s just you being wrong on this one.
See, I gave you an out there, instead of remarking about how you must “fail at life” or something equally ridiculous based on your behavior in our exchange here.
I only replied STFU to your STFU because it was uncalled for and condescending, and I did so mildly in jest. But then you went on to come off as a real jerk, and I just kept it going. Don’t hurt yourself climbing off that high horse.
So far, I'm only really responding to you at this point. I think you should stop speaking for "everyone" when it appears you're one of, say, 4 people with hurt feelings right now.
I hate that the Nuggets lost, but your frustration is woefully misdirected here.
Apologies for not being so sensitive to people in their "moments of weakness"
Though by your logic, perhaps my post was also a “moment of weakness?” Anyway, it’s pure emotional fandom. Reacting to one guy thinking that blaming the refs is an exhausting, fruitless endeavor (not an original take, by the way – many people feel the same) probably does not warrant the name-calling. Not that I really care that much.
I already know of two games where the referees singlehandedly won the Thunder the game, and they also did it years ago against your very own team with a total BS goaltend that wasn’t called.
the refs were dribbling at the top of the key for 19 seconds and then took an ill-advised thr… Oh wait that wasn’t them. But they definitely let Durant have a clear path to the bask… Oh damn.
You seem bent outta shape on championing the fragile emotions of people who otherwise can’t articulate their displeasure with my remarks beyond a STFU. I’m more interested in a discussion about it, if people feel differently. Anything beyond that is residual.
They have an inability to address it because they just watched this game as diehard Nuggets fans.
Your initial stance was correct. I would have agreed with it in another setting. But that was not the time nor the place to post it, and it especially didn’t help that you kept it going with your sarcasm, which only made people lash out at you more.
But I really don’t believe you really wanted a deep discussion about it when you’re posting in a gamethread right at the end of the game. It seems more like you just wanted to make people angry at you. It worked. Congratulations on being a dick.
You won’t believe it, but I am always more interested in deeper discussion on these subjects. But my initial post was also emotional (naturally), as a cumulative annoyance on the “blaming the refs” complaint. You’ll see that I noted it several times in this game thread above and in the first half (if you want to even bother checking). So it’s not like I’m deliberately trying to capitalize on sore emotions. Which would be a dick thing to do, if that was my true intent.
the refs are complete shit. That’s a given. But we could have won this game despite any of that. You win respect by winning games. You become a star by winning games. You start to get calls by winning games. OKC is a SHITTY market. Any team that has some success, has some popular players, can win. You keep a loser’s mentality, “Oh well we could win all these games if they called it fair”. Well, that’s probably true, but when you have the opportunity, you HAVE to close.
Uh.. yeah, that proves my point about how screwed the referees are. They don’t give a team calls until they win a bunch of games, IE possibly become money-makers for Stern.
with the refs, without the refs! If we execute AT ALL down the stretch, a missed over the back doesn’t matter! Here, at Memphis, anywhere. We can become one of these teams the ref favor! That’s what we want! It’s a shitty shitty thing, but that’s how you win in this league, and I want this team to win.
Just call it the same way. Fucking bullshit since the last two minutes of the 4th. And you know that tomorrow all the media will be on KD and Westbrooks c*&ck about how great a game they played and there will be absolutely nothing about the way the game was taken away from us.,
that he continually goes for blocks when he has no chance and gives up easy offensive rebounds. Your center cannot do that when you play small at the end of games.
I still disagree...were you in the huddle? Did you hear Karl tell Ty to
dribble around at the top of the key (when we had the 3pt lead), never try to penetrate, then jack up a contested 3? If not, you need something more than “Karl froze” to convince me.
but they need someone who can step up, this entire season nobody has been able to do it in last possession type game. When it happens the Nuggets will be champ contenders, when it happens…one day…hopefully…please
Thanks for keeping Andre Miller in the game when he was a liability on both the offensive and defensive end.
Brewer would have been a better choice especially with his what 4 turnovers in OT??
Guys this team ain’t elite with GK at the helm. The players are good, but they need a coach who draws up offensive plays and gets players in their spots.
P.S. George…thanks for getting rid of JR. I hope he lights you up and gets a ship before you.
I'm not sure there was anything we could have done
Durant is a god damn beast. Westbrook is a god damn beast. There was no stopping them, those balls were falling no matter what.
I think the first traveling call was bs, but obviously the second one was justified.
It says a lot that we could come that close without Nene and Gallo. Although I’m afraid that when we have our “stars” the bench loses the mentality that they have to score. That mentality kept us in it tonight.
I can sleep well, after I bow to the KD throne. He is simply untouchable.
Inexcusable coaching in the 4th. How many more times do the people that watch this team night in and night out have to watch Karl play horrible lineups and refuse to adjust?
The Nuggets built their big lead in the 2nd by playing their bench, with guys like Hamilton and Brewer. Then in the third and fourth, they see almost zero minutes in favor of…Bird and Harrington???
I just shake my head and erase another recording. I wish I could erase George Karl’s awful coaching as easily.
But we gave them too many second chances as well. Going small is really stupid. Having someone like Faried/Mozgov/Koufos playing more would have helped.
It might help that Andre Miller is guarding Westbrook
And Harrington is on Durant. That is a great way to defend that duo. Just put our oldest dudes on them.
I love you GK!!!! This ones for you. I feel Scott Brooks need to buy you dinner or something for giving him the game like that.
We even freakin blew the first to get to 100 win rule. You know if you do that 2 games in a row something is damn wrong with the team and it starts at the top( not the FO I trust them, the players are good see I told you AAA would come to play). It befuddles me why Ujiri extended Karl? Never be compassionate when you run a business. Karl= Don Nelson fun in the regular season, but a joke in the playoffs(aka someone wants to see in the playoffs).
Karl is a fucking idiot. Why was Al in the game over Brewer. Brewer was doing a very solid job on Durant. And why didn’t K2 get any run in the second half. The man was a beast in the first half. Even some of you Karl defenders have to realize that there is a major problem when we keep losing in late game situations
Not Brewer, not AAA, not Al, not the Roman Legions, not the Charge of the Light Brigade. No one. He could. not. miss. tonight. It wouldn’t have mattered if Bruce Bowen, Metta World Peace, and LeBron were triple teaming him. He was gonna make the shots
His defense on Westbrook was stellar. All of his points in the second half were free throws or contested jumpers late in the shot clock. And he was the only one who scored in overtime.
g.j. had BETTER spend some damned money in the post game interview
and criticize the officiating. ibaka had a tripple double, but not what the score card says. he had 12 personal fouls, which would have negated 6 blocks, plus another two that were obvious goaltends. harden had 6 obvious fouls by my count, and we all know what we saw durant and westbrook get. sooooooooo frustrating!
ya we agree. and that ruins his, and in turn our teams chances to get anything going
i credit westbrook and durant for making jump shots, but that is all they really did. the rest is on g.k.’s maddening rotations and on the officiating. playing bird instead of kk is inexcusable.
That karl refuses to make defensive substitutions at the end of a game to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Run those “trust guys” into the ground again George
He just refuses to go away from tired "trust" players at the end of games
he has no feel for late game substitutions. Need a stop and a rebound yet you leave in the smallest lineup possible with old/slow miller and harrington on the floor, just no excuse.
You know these struggles might be good for this team in the long run
I really don’t want us making the playoffs unless we get a top 4 seed. I don’t know if Karl will play a lottery pick, but he better.
It is clear to me Karl is the one to blame straight up. I really don’t care for a post all-star break surge and then one and done. It’s going to happen with Karl, I actually want us to be in the lottery this year and get rid of Karl while we are at it.
Regardless of what the refs didn’t do. Would love for Hochman to get his revenge on Coach Karl’s “irresponsible journalism” comment and ask him something like “why didn’t you have a better defensive lineup in the last 4 minutes?”
First!

Even Mullin says it wasn't a shooting foul..
SDcat09 - February 19, 2012
is that in our favor
or against our position?
sgiustra - February 19, 2012
Just saying that the ESPN guys haven't criticized the refs tonight
but Mullin thought it was poor call, enough so that he vocalized it.
SDcat09 - February 19, 2012
Miller's Mr. Doitall tonight
Winnie Boi - February 19, 2012

Knotted up with OKC, on the road, going into the 4th, without 2 of our starters.
Let’s do it, Nuggs!
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
Al's game has really fallen off the past few games.
newsman35 - February 19, 2012
Yes it has
But it’s hard for bench guys to not have weak stretches. Al has been in one
zeusmith - February 19, 2012
I can live with Durant dropping 50
I can’t live with double teaming Durant and giving up open 3’s

Kevin L - February 19, 2012
I'm really beginning to dislike Hardin
Flails about like a fish out of water and gets every call
Russscot - February 19, 2012
Harden would be nice on our team though
an upgrade from AAA. Not that I don’t dislike AAA, I just think Harden would open our spacing more and you don’t lose anything on the defensive end.

2 fouls in 1 minute
shit

CloudBurst - February 19, 2012
Why? Are you one of the negative nancies on bringing back Wilson?
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
Oh, not that
I like Chandler as a player, I’m still undecided on whether or not to trade him. I was just referring to how Chandler sort of collapsed in the final quarter of every game for us in the playoffs last year.
CloudBurst - February 19, 2012
Thing is he doesn’t have to have the ball this time around.
Kevin L - February 19, 2012
Yeah, fair enough.
Still, 9 minutes left in this game. We’ve work left.

SDcat09 - February 19, 2012

sgiustra - February 19, 2012
Birdman's new method of offensive rebounding.
Just swing wildly at the ball and hope to tap it back to a teammate.
Agaliarept - February 19, 2012
If we had 8 guys out there it would totally work.
georgekarl - February 19, 2012
That’d probably even it up against OKC.

Guys, STFU about the refs already. The refs didn't cause those Miller turnovers, which is truly the difference at this point.
We get obnoxiously fixated on the reffing far too often (as do most fan bases). It’s the lamest criticism.

Friendly one, this guy.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
Says the one being a dick to everyone in a heartbreaking ending where nobody is being logical.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
"Everyone?"
No, only the people overreacting at the refereeing. We lost this game for more than the reffing. It’s a useless complaint, every single time. Maybe in isolation, for a specific call, but sweeping statements about it get old.
Sorry for attempting “logic” despite my emotions.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
What difference does it make if we do complain about officiating?
I’ll bet I can go to every single SB Nation basketball blog and there will tons of complaints about the officiating. It’s really not that big of a deal.
SDcat09 - February 19, 2012
You are right: what difference does it make, indeed.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
STFU
love4nuggets - February 19, 2012
does that mean shut the fuc up?
samdman - February 19, 2012
What difference does it make to YOU if we complain?
SDcat09 - February 19, 2012
Not much. Enough so to where I made a post about it, and am apparently on my heels defending the stance.
But you implicitly concede that it’s a dumb complaint, then? I’d rather see more valid complaints on the board for my favorite team.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
No I didn't say that at all. But good attempt at putting words in my mouth.
I think telling people in a game thread to not complain about officiating when it does actually directly impact a game as much as bad play, poor coaching decisions etc is pointless.
SDcat09 - February 19, 2012
Apologies. I'll just let the extremely annoying comments happen without calling people out on it, then.
Also, “implicitly concede” in a question is not actually putting words in your mouth.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
But it's an attempt to misconstrue what I'm actually saying.
SDcat09 - February 19, 2012
Indeed.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
But it doesn't, actually.
I know you’re saying that it doesn’t make a difference either way – either complaining about the refs, or complaining that the complaining needs to stop. I’m not going to reiterate my complaint dozens of times during a single game, the way the former complaint gets hurled around many times.
I’m trying to distinguish a difference here, which is to say, I think my observation is more meaningful.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
Actually saying that I am "implicity conceding" is trying to misconstrue
what I AM actually saying about this subject.
I AM saying here clearly to YOU that fans complaining about the officiating is fair in a game thread. There should be no limitation to how much people complain about it during a game thread because every play has the potential to elicit a poor call or unfair calling of games.
It’s what game threads are for.
SDcat09 - February 19, 2012
Fair enough.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
It's sad, actually. I guess having intelligence without arrogance is a rare thing in this world.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
Oh, look. More ad hominem attacks without discussing my initial point.
Fanoftheunderdogs, are you ready to talk about my initial point? I’m awaiting this “intelligence” to be injected into the discussion.

Dude, the Spurs fan is right (and I hate saying that)
You’re trolling and generally being a horse’s ass.
Stop it.
free7694 - February 19, 2012
So I'm wrong about observing ("out loud") that complaining about the refs is lame?
Difference of opinion, then. And you could stop with the insult-slinging. I don’t care if me repeating that makes me look like a “horse’s ass” in your opinion.

What?
Have you lost your damn mind? How does your reply to me even make sense?
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
You're accusing me of not being a Nuggets fan and trolling?
Because I pointed out that blaming the refs is ridiculous? That’s how it makes sense.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
No. I'm accusing you of not being a Nuggets fan and trolling
because you’re trolling the Nuggets fans here while they’re emotionally distraught over the ending.
How is that so hard to understand?
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
Hey, Spurs fan
I am actually a Nuggets fan. And it’s actually merely an observation when pointing out to people that blaming the refs won’t get you anywhere. That is not even close to trolling. It only pisses people off who actually believe the refs cost us the game – which is just, well, a difference of opinion (and IMO, untrue).
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
This is what trolling is:
When people start outlashing at your comment about not blaming the referees right as the Nuggets lose in heartbreaking fashion, you respond to them with the following:
That’s trolling.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
I think the "lashing out" at my comment is kinda crucial to this exchange.
Because my comment did not merit being “lashed out” at, regardless of how emotional people were during this crushing loss for MY team.
So no, none of my sarcastic responses – to people merely telling me to STFU without actually bothering to respond to the content of my post beyond that – constitutes as trolling.
Just give it up, Spurs fan, or whoever you are.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
Yeah, you're right. I should give it up.
You’re going to need it if you’re this stupid with emotion.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
See, I gave you an out there, instead of remarking about how you must “fail at life” or something equally ridiculous based on your behavior in our exchange here.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
Wow man. Just wow.
I only replied STFU to your STFU because it was uncalled for and condescending, and I did so mildly in jest. But then you went on to come off as a real jerk, and I just kept it going. Don’t hurt yourself climbing off that high horse.
love4nuggets - February 19, 2012

Are you serious? You're making everyone feel worse with your arrogance.
It’s more than just the STFU.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
So far, I'm only really responding to you at this point. I think you should stop speaking for "everyone" when it appears you're one of, say, 4 people with hurt feelings right now.
I hate that the Nuggets lost, but your frustration is woefully misdirected here.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
I'm speaking for myself and what I'm seeing.
And I’m not a Nuggets fan. I am, however, a guy that hates seeing assholes like you that do this to people in their moment of weakness.
So no, nothing I am saying right now is woefully misdirected.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
Apologies for not being so sensitive to people in their "moments of weakness"
Though by your logic, perhaps my post was also a “moment of weakness?” Anyway, it’s pure emotional fandom. Reacting to one guy thinking that blaming the refs is an exhausting, fruitless endeavor (not an original take, by the way – many people feel the same) probably does not warrant the name-calling. Not that I really care that much.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
you care enough to keep arguing about it
let it go, man
EmersonCR - February 19, 2012
I certainly care enough when I'm accused of trolling, that's true.
Though the emotions will still be too hot for most to enter this fray too clearly.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
Well all your assholish sarcasm following that post was what warranted the name-calling.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
So my single-word sarcasm is assholish (all of 3 posts), but those who tell me to "get over myself," etc., are not?
Why don’t you attack them with name-calling?
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
Because you DO need to get over yourself.

nugzin2040 - February 19, 2012
They did call him for traveling when he got fouled
free7694 - February 19, 2012
You stfu with that bullshit.
I already know of two games where the referees singlehandedly won the Thunder the game, and they also did it years ago against your very own team with a total BS goaltend that wasn’t called.
The refs love OKC and it always shows.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
I KNOW!
the refs were dribbling at the top of the key for 19 seconds and then took an ill-advised thr… Oh wait that wasn’t them. But they definitely let Durant have a clear path to the bask… Oh damn.
El Scorcho! - February 19, 2012
lol.
I’m not even gonna try. You can’t help ignorance. Just keep believing the referees are legitimate and Stern would never play favorites.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
The true ignorance lies in believing that the Nuggets didn't lose this game themselves.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
You can't talk about ignorance while being ignorant of how you were a complete fuckhead above.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
Nice logic.
See? More sarcasm for the guy who just refuses to see my initial stance – prompting all this feedback – in any other light.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
This has nothing to do with your initial stance.
This has everything to do with how much of a dick you’re acting like.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
It has everything to do with my initial stance
And many people’s inability to address it.
You seem bent outta shape on championing the fragile emotions of people who otherwise can’t articulate their displeasure with my remarks beyond a STFU. I’m more interested in a discussion about it, if people feel differently. Anything beyond that is residual.
Now, stop being a dick about me being a dick.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
They have an inability to address it because they just watched this game as diehard Nuggets fans.
Your initial stance was correct. I would have agreed with it in another setting. But that was not the time nor the place to post it, and it especially didn’t help that you kept it going with your sarcasm, which only made people lash out at you more.
But I really don’t believe you really wanted a deep discussion about it when you’re posting in a gamethread right at the end of the game. It seems more like you just wanted to make people angry at you. It worked. Congratulations on being a dick.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
Then it's my fault for the "bad timing."
Which would be a dick thing to do, if that was my true intent.
neumdaddy - February 19, 2012
STFU
love4nuggets - February 19, 2012
dude
the refs are complete shit.
El Scorcho! - February 19, 2012
Uh.. yeah, that proves my point about how screwed the referees are. They don’t give a team calls until they win a bunch of games, IE possibly become money-makers for Stern.
fanoftheunderdogs - February 19, 2012
AND WE CAN WIN THESE GAMES
with the refs, without the refs! If we execute AT ALL down the stretch, a missed over the back doesn’t matter! Here, at Memphis, anywhere. We can become one of these teams the ref favor! That’s what we want! It’s a shitty shitty thing, but that’s how you win in this league, and I want this team to win.
El Scorcho! - February 19, 2012
pls god why why do the refs never call it both ways pls answer me
cfact - February 19, 2012

I still disagree...were you in the huddle? Did you hear Karl tell Ty to
dribble around at the top of the key (when we had the 3pt lead), never try to penetrate, then jack up a contested 3? If not, you need something more than “Karl froze” to convince me.

SDcat09 - February 19, 2012

The fact is that we were without arguably our best player

Indeed.
They are not a great team, and can be shut down by great defense.

We play a good Wolves team tomorrow. Could very well lose there as well.

newsman35 - February 19, 2012
I disagree
Think both Afflalo and Ty are comfortable taking big shots. Ty just missed a couple huge wins. And the over the back call was killer.
The Thunder are going to get more calls then Denver, so it’s really hard to win
nugzin2040 - February 19, 2012

Phil H. - February 19, 2012
I still wished they went to Afflalo more in the 4th, he was playing great.
Kevin L - February 19, 2012

They don’t have that right now.
free7694 - February 19, 2012
Hate to say it
But the lineups at the end cost us. Just needed defense and rebounding and mosgov, koufos and faried on the bench. jusy saying

Critical
SDcat09 - February 19, 2012
This game is for you GK!!
JR15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Need to write that in Comic Sans?
Kevin L - February 19, 2012
haha well played
zeusmith - February 19, 2012
I can't fuckin believe Brewer wasn't in the game.
He was keeping a lid on Durant and making him work for his shots. Then when Al came in, surfuckinprise, Durant went all Jordan vs Ehlo on us.
paidinfull87 - February 19, 2012
All we had to do was get one stop at the end of regulation.
But the only guy on the floor known for his defense was Afflalo. And no rebounders because neither Al nor Bird know how to do that.
NuggBuckets - February 19, 2012
I'm not sure there was anything we could have done
Durant is a god damn beast. Westbrook is a god damn beast. There was no stopping them, those balls were falling no matter what.
I think the first traveling call was bs, but obviously the second one was justified.
It says a lot that we could come that close without Nene and Gallo. Although I’m afraid that when we have our “stars” the bench loses the mentality that they have to score. That mentality kept us in it tonight.
I can sleep well, after I bow to the KD throne. He is simply untouchable.
cmguinn - February 19, 2012
Dont start with the we need a closer, we need a rebounder late, 2 straight games like this
PATHETIC BOX OUT
5baker5 - February 19, 2012
That's what happens when you keep 2 seven footers on the bench WHEN ALL YOU NEED IS ONE REBOUND.
paidinfull87 - February 19, 2012
brewer and koufos in for defense wouId have been the difference probabIy.
Rys - February 19, 2012
It's called boxing out not that hard
5baker5 - February 19, 2012
Just another bad loss.
Colin Neilson - February 19, 2012 via mobile

I'm not going to defend Karl or the officiating
But, like, Durant, Westbrook, and Ibaka were really f-ing good in this one.
EmersonCR - February 19, 2012
Yeah, they had great games
But we gave them too many second chances as well. Going small is really stupid. Having someone like Faried/Mozgov/Koufos playing more would have helped.
nugzin2040 - February 19, 2012
One rebound would have negated their perfection.
paidinfull87 - February 19, 2012
Yup
SDcat09 - February 19, 2012
Our two best defenders
Were on the bench and guarding Daequan Cook at the end of the game. I think I know who to blame for this loss.
free7694 - February 19, 2012
we need a defensive stopper. there is no reason that 2 players score 40 points
newsman35 - February 19, 2012
They were just on.
Kevin L - February 19, 2012
Well, when they're being guarded by Andre Miller and Al Harrington

love4nuggets - February 19, 2012
bs, i watched miIIer and aI pIay their defense, it was awfuI.
Rys - February 19, 2012
They're top ten players
That when they are on are going to do that. Nothing they can do about it really.
nugzin2040 - February 19, 2012
Seriously.
Half of their makes were contested jumpers. Westbrook has not shown that he can consistently make those.
paidinfull87 - February 19, 2012

5baker5 - February 19, 2012
Another heartbreaking for us
Karl is a fucking idiot. Why was Al in the game over Brewer. Brewer was doing a very solid job on Durant. And why didn’t K2 get any run in the second half. The man was a beast in the first half. Even some of you Karl defenders have to realize that there is a major problem when we keep losing in late game situations
TheMozgovCocktail - February 19, 2012
that wasn't why we lost, we lost because we cant rebound
5baker5 - February 19, 2012

TheMozgovCocktail - February 19, 2012

Not Brewer, not AAA, not Al, not the Roman Legions, not the Charge of the Light Brigade. No one. He could. not. miss. tonight. It wouldn’t have mattered if Bruce Bowen, Metta World Peace, and LeBron were triple teaming him. He was gonna make the shots

SDcat09 - February 19, 2012
I refuse to believe this. Put the guy on his ass.
L.A_NuggetsFan - February 19, 2012 via mobile
AAA came to play man.
His defense on Westbrook was stellar. All of his points in the second half were free throws or contested jumpers late in the shot clock. And he was the only one who scored in overtime.
paidinfull87 - February 19, 2012
Loved AAA tonight, but he didn't slow down KD...no one could have tonight
Russscot - February 19, 2012
because Kevin Duran is a beast and he also got helped out some by the refs
but the man was just on fire
TheMozgovCocktail - February 19, 2012
g.j. had BETTER spend some damned money in the post game interview
and criticize the officiating. ibaka had a tripple double, but not what the score card says. he had 12 personal fouls, which would have negated 6 blocks, plus another two that were obvious goaltends. harden had 6 obvious fouls by my count, and we all know what we saw durant and westbrook get. sooooooooo frustrating!
Patrick KB. Nugget - February 19, 2012
AT LEAST 3 blocks on Lawson were hits on the arm.
paidinfull87 - February 19, 2012
i counted 6 obvious fouls on blocks for ibaka
and 6 for over the back. all clear and no doubters.
Patrick KB. Nugget - February 19, 2012
Correct
I was just pointing the ones out on Lawson. There is no way Lawson drives that much in a game and gets NO free throws. Inexcusable.
paidinfull87 - February 19, 2012
ya we agree. and that ruins his, and in turn our teams chances to get anything going
i credit westbrook and durant for making jump shots, but that is all they really did. the rest is on g.k.’s maddening rotations and on the officiating. playing bird instead of kk is inexcusable.
Patrick KB. Nugget - February 19, 2012
listening on the radio
he’s playing the moral victory card. spend some damned money karl! for once and for all! it is our only chance!
Patrick KB. Nugget - February 19, 2012

Durant vs Reggie
I hope Durant’s performance puts to rest the ridiculas argument that he is no better than Reggie Miller…
JBSinThai - February 19, 2012
He’s just taller….
Kevin L - February 19, 2012
Yeah, and....
He tied the game with a tough dunk. Miller never won games like that…
JBSinThai - February 19, 2012
There was that dunk against NJ(?)
Kevin L - February 19, 2012
Oh and 6 points in 13 seconds
With the classic choke sign of course
JR15 - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Yeah, Miller had a few, but he just wasn’t the complete player that Durant is, IMO.
JBSinThai - February 19, 2012

Kevin L - February 19, 2012
Second game in a row
That karl refuses to make defensive substitutions at the end of a game to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Run those “trust guys” into the ground again George
Shaz_II - February 19, 2012
Perhaps there is something more to why they didn't play
SDcat09 - February 19, 2012
Because Karl doesn't coach at the end of games
he watches
Shaz_II - February 19, 2012
Something more...hmm, the coach maybe?
Colin Neilson - February 19, 2012 via mobile
I'm just saying we don't know why Karl didn't put them in the game
SDcat09 - February 19, 2012
But the most likely explanation is
Stupidity
free7694 - February 19, 2012
He just refuses to go away from tired "trust" players at the end of games
he has no feel for late game substitutions. Need a stop and a rebound yet you leave in the smallest lineup possible with old/slow miller and harrington on the floor, just no excuse.
Shaz_II - February 19, 2012
Like I said, stupidity
free7694 - February 19, 2012
No, its very clear
Karl is a bad coach

I really don’t want us making the playoffs unless we get a top 4 seed. I don’t know if Karl will play a lottery pick, but he better.
It is clear to me Karl is the one to blame straight up. I really don’t care for a post all-star break surge and then one and done. It’s going to happen with Karl, I actually want us to be in the lottery this year and get rid of Karl while we are at it.

The most reassurring part of this game
