The Blazers are having a field day hitting three-point shots. After trailing by as many as 16 points, the Nuggets reeled the Blazers back in and closed to within six points. 53-59 Portland leads
Danilo Gallinari has 17. Kosta Koufos has 10. Keep feeding the ball to them and everything will be ok

Her tits were getting a lot of attention the other night
Hastings was pawing all over her.
georgekarl - February 4, 2012
CombatChuk's key to the 2nd half
Make enough shots to have more points than the Blazers at the end of the game.

Lots of negative nancy's in here
Nuggets are clearly a very tired team. No legs. All perimeter.
Will be happy when this back to back to back is over.
Jeffrey Morton - February 4, 2012
What about the other teams
that have to go through the same schedule?
samdman - February 4, 2012
Nuggets are one of only a handfull of teams that have TWO b2b2b's
don’t gimme that
Jeffrey Morton - February 4, 2012
One of a handful of teams
They aren’t the ONLY team to have a fuc up schedule.
Do the Nuggets feel sorry for beating up on a team after they have played b2b2b.
You of all people shouldn’t come up with some lame excuse for GK not having his team prepared
samdman - February 5, 2012
PDX is big and long and fast
it isn’t to be unexpected, the trick is to get into the postseason because I think the West is wide open

Affalo sucks. Bad. I figured his good game at LAC would lead to twenty bad ones.
George Karl sucks.
Our perimeter defense sucks.
The honeymoon period is over kids.
KevinAwesome - February 4, 2012 via mobile
No one can convince me that J-Ham could contribute less than AAA
Or that Faried would be worse off the bench than Brewer
KevinAwesome - February 4, 2012 via mobile
Every team has bad stretches
there was never a honeymoon period
Phil H. - February 4, 2012
I think we are seeing the true nuggets this week
Cant hang with the big boys.
So I hope this ends the homerism around here.
KevinAwesome - February 4, 2012 via mobile
Oh please
they crushed the Clippers two nights ago.
Phil H. - February 4, 2012
I'm not convinced the clippers have shown all they have to offer
I’m sorry I expect more out my team and coach. These were two terrible losses, but of they are lacking mental toughness so yeah let’s keep beating a few good teams here and there and the play subpar basketball against the rest.
And Phil, I’m glad you follow me from comment to comment. I’m glad I have a fan in you.
KevinAwesome - February 4, 2012 via mobile
Are you trolling yourself?
I mean you’ve been kind of homerific too.
SDcat09 - February 4, 2012

When he’s healthy i suggest starting him and K2 over nene. Who’s with me?
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
we've seen that lineup
Its tall
InboundingLobPass - February 4, 2012 via mobile
yeah we have
it would be more effective
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
I was thinking the same damn thing an hour ago
Nene is soft on the defensive glass, soft on the offensive end, plays with no energy, and doesn’t deserve to be starting. If GK benches players for not performing he should start with NENE. And GK is part of the problem with his ridiculous rotations that have been haunting every team he has ever coached. It is his glaring achilles heel as a coach. Karl needs to take responsibility for some of our losses as do the players. Yeah, put nene in with 8 minutes left in a deep hole is going to help. GIVE ME A BREAK!!
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
Sadly we are stuck with Nene for the end of his career.
Houston is probably wiping their brow and signing with relief.
georgekarl - February 4, 2012
You ever heard of the Twin Towers in Houston
Sampson & Olajwon.
Denver has Twin Towers also.
samdman - February 5, 2012

Nuggburg - February 4, 2012
First blowout loss of the year?
it’ll be OK, I’ll let the reactionaries have their glory in this thread. Till next time
Phil H. - February 4, 2012
Blow out or by one
a lost is a lost.
So GK had the Nuggets prepared
samdman - February 4, 2012
You can call me a reactionary all you want
But this team lacks toughness right now, and the trend is noticeable. I am now starting to see why losing K-mart was such a blow.
And no I didn’t expect a win tonight, just a team that gave a little effort.
KevinAwesome - February 4, 2012 via mobile
I can't believe you said that.
Kmart is a suckers bet, always has been. I am super glad he went to the Clippers so it will cancel out their good playing. I just wish we could clone him and send the close to OKC.
georgekarl - February 4, 2012

Just like we were against the Clips, Miami and the Defending Champions.
Kevin L - February 4, 2012
I don't refute that
the Nuggets are a good team, everyone is going to crap the bed in this truncated season, just get into the postseason and let the chips fall where they may
the new Bradfather - February 4, 2012
Just Wondering
Why don’t we guard NB?
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
Where has Birdman been...
the last three nights? Has he fallen out of the rotation completely, is he hurt or sick, or what? I’ve seen nothing to explain this. Maybe being held out pending a trade? They don’t want him getting hurt? You would think he’d play with Moz out, at least.
The Fanimal - February 4, 2012 via iPhone app
He is either in the doghouse or getting the Kaman treatment
Jeffrey Morton - February 4, 2012
I vote the latter...
And I hope for the latter. It’s an expensive doghouse with our need for fresh bodies the past two nights.
The Fanimal - February 4, 2012 via iPhone app
Some one was going to take JR's place
That’s the way GK is . Haven’t you learned anything in the eight years that he’s been here
samdman - February 4, 2012
Oh look it's Manimal!
SDcat09 - February 4, 2012
dumbass basketball reasons
InboundingLobPass - February 4, 2012 via mobile
FARIEEEEEED!!!!
Kevin L - February 4, 2012
Look the rook ran the floor
Idiot coach needed to play him in the second Q
I swear any of us could’ve figured that out
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
we're now being beaten like a redheaded stepchild
InboundingLobPass - February 4, 2012 via mobile
We are only 27 down
We can do this!
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
what's up brah!
the new Bradfather - February 4, 2012
Pardon me while I post w myself
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
22
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
I hope
Masai and Josh are watching this game closely
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
any front office worth their salt
would monitor every game closely, win or lose
the new Bradfather - February 4, 2012
They're busy.
Kevin L - February 4, 2012
Well, I wasn't expecting a win at all
This is the worst back to back to back ever in the NBA.
CloudBurst - February 4, 2012
At least
There’s no more back to back to backs
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
18
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
at the very least manimal and ham sandwich get some burn
InboundingLobPass - February 4, 2012 via mobile
That will happen when you are down 27 with 2.5 min left
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
Afflalo
Trade him for Eric Gordon
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Ham delicious Ham!
InboundingLobPass - February 4, 2012 via mobile
So that was fun.
SDcat09 - February 4, 2012
Twas.
Kevin L - February 4, 2012
sorry guys
better luck next time, I’ll see you down the road, thanks for having me
the new Bradfather - February 4, 2012
Who Are Your Top Three Nugget Trade Canidates
I say
1) Miller
2) AAA
3) Bird
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
Bird
I don’t think he has trade value,
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
1. Miller
2. Bird
3. AAA.
But Bird’s also a greater candidate for amnesty if someone else gets traded.
Agaliarept - February 4, 2012
I say
1. Miller
2. AAA
3. Nene (even though it won’t happen)
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Can we trade all three ang a three picks for Howard
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
I say
YES!
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
How do we buy this team so we can do that deal?
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
I have
$40,000 in the bank willing to spend.
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Ok. We only need like to earn 1000X that
What is our plan
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
I can
take that money and bet that the Rockies win the world series lol.
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
I think they would have to win three in a row for 1000x
Can they do that?
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
It's possible
lol
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Miller isn't really trade bait
He is coming off the books next season, so if you do trade him it will only be to free up Lawson and make Lawson get more minutes and have more control as a go-to man.
CloudBurst - February 4, 2012
Miller
There are teams out there that might take him
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Melo.
Kevin L - February 4, 2012
Yah
Can we trade Melo again?
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
If Chandler comes back
and we did a starting lineup of
Nene
Chandler
Gallo
AAA
Lawson
Is that better or worse than the size with Moz and Nene in the frontcourt? Obviously Karl does not know how to coach with a real 5.
CloudBurst - February 4, 2012
Gallo
I’m weary of having him play power forwars
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Forward
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
I mean move Chandler to the 4
Chandler can be a PF, I mean.. you’d give up more rebounding like we already do but at the least Karl knows how to play with a small rotation. So maybe Nene/Chandler/Gallo/AAA/Lawson is the answer.
Personally if we have James Harden in replace of AAA that lineup is really good. However, AAA just isn’t AAA anymore.
CloudBurst - February 4, 2012
It's Karl
So I could see him doing something like that. However, I don’t ever want to see that starting five.
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
nene does not deserve to be a starter the way he is playing
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
Miller is contributing to the success we've been having
InboundingLobPass - February 5, 2012 via mobile
Houston
Weren’t the Rockets coveting nene in the offseason. I say trade him to the rockets for Scola.
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Hell no
Nene is way better than Scola. Nene had a bad night but if you trade him you are going into rebuild mode.
CloudBurst - February 4, 2012
Nope
Scola is consistent. I’ll take that over the invisible man act any day.
georgekarl - February 4, 2012
Thank you
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Scola is averaging 5.7 rebounds this year
and has a worse fg%.
How is that more consistent?
CloudBurst - February 4, 2012
you know what he's gonna do
and he’s cheaper.
georgekarl - February 4, 2012
you avoided the question
Might as well trade Nene for brian scalabrine because we know what he is going to do.
Our players were obviously tired tonight. Against a good team that plays tough defense.
You can’t expect someone like Nene to play 60 minutes of basketball in 3 days on short rest.
CloudBurst - February 4, 2012
what was nene's excuse last nite???
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
Nene
He’s always been soft and will continue to be
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Good point
Nene is consistent about his disappearing act. If you are cool with that then why shouldn’t I be.
georgekarl - February 4, 2012
And
He is scrappy and will get into other player’s heads.
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
nene has LOTS of bad nights, the stats don't always tell the full story
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
Nene
He’s had plenty of bad nights.
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
i'd trade Charmin in a minute
samdman - February 4, 2012
Scola
at least he would get in there and mix it up and get some rebounds
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Nene had 4 points
And 2 rebounds
Not bad
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
Yeah
He really earned his check tonight
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
nene pIays bad on back to backs, so b2b2b, what do you expect.
Rys - February 4, 2012
Nene
I’m just fed up with him and his finger rolls. just dunk the damn ball when you get the chance
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
for him to get his shit together
and start earning $83 mil
samdman - February 4, 2012
Just for the record Faired had almost the same line
Seriously in 2.5 minutes
I say play Faried. Seriously, play the boy! He is better than the PPF ( I was wrong)!
Maybe we could get a blind camel to coach the team (he could certainly see as much)!
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
Scola
He had 24 and 8 tonight. That’s Nene’s points times four and his rebounds times four. Not bad
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
I did not expect a win tonight, but this last week
Have made me question Nuggets lack toughness; did they omit perimeter defense from their game plan tonight? Nene sucked tonight but I still see his value – get off the trade talk.
I do not see us hanging with the big boys anymore. Oh well. Guess I’m peeved cause the Nuggs cost me $20 this weekend
And for my most knee jerk opinion of the night, play Faried Hamilton over Brewer and AAA, respectively. What do we have to lose?
Later Stiffs!
KevinAwesome - February 4, 2012 via mobile
And the rough patch.
Ok everybody get they whining in. It took a back-back-back in Portland to finally see the Nuggets get blown out.
Everyone want to talk trades right now? Really? Just enjoy Sunday. Relax and the Nuggets are going to start a win streak on Monday against the Rockets.
I was encouraged be 2k and that Denver fought back to within 2. Just ran out of gas. Bottom line.
Trades.. hah. What a bunch of front runners. Have a little faith.. Team is going to bounce back in a big way.
djyoung71 - February 4, 2012
AAA
I will definitley talk about trading him
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
simiIar reason why i want to trade chandIer, ppl seem to gIoss ovr his pIayoffs, and make him out to be some sort of soIution that he isnt, because there arent any other options.
put the team in a position to trade with a bunch of assets, and not payin 8miI to roIe pIayers, unIess they are Cs.
Rys - February 4, 2012
AAA
Is trying to do to much. But too early to give up on him. He will figure it out. Trade him down the road.. but not now.
I think the contract is playing with his head.
djyoung71 - February 4, 2012
agreed, but he should not be getting the minutes that GK is giving him
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
Down the road
Is on March 1st. that’s when we trade AAA
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
I have faith but just
Don’t understand why you don’t play Stone and Faired early. Isn’t that why we had such a deep team for this very reason?
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
Have been impressed with them..
Stone play ok D, but is super timid on offense.
Faired plays bad, and raw on offense. Both need time. Would have been feeding them to the wolves. Faried on Aldridge.. yup that would have been fun.
djyoung71 - February 4, 2012
Fresh out of faith
this is the 8th year that your illustrious coach can’t figure out his team
samdman - February 4, 2012
Karl
He needs to go after another first round exit
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
+1
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
Thats just silly.
Team has done better than expected the almost every year. Not like they were favored to win the title every year.
Hmm.. Melo getting crushed in New York. GK didn’t help him at all. He was just holding him back from reaching his true potential..
djyoung71 - February 4, 2012
But Melo is starting in the AS game
That is all that he wanted
That and 85M
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
If
The Nuggets have another first round exit, then we should fire Karl. I don’t know if you’re cool with watching another first round exit cause I’m not
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
karI's actuaIIy tried this season, and the FO has heIped by tradin away feIton, as did aI by improvin so much.
he’s been more responsive to puttin bigger guys to guard bigger teams, and actuaIIy runnin some pIays out of TOs onIy Iate in games. he’s effectiveIy used pt as a way to get aII the guys on the team to pIay hard.
onIy probIem is why he didnt try as much with a meIo Ied team, he didnt argue for caIIs and do aII these other things, kind of Iike he didnt reaIIy want to win with that team. but now that he has his kind of team he’s tryin very hard, so we’II see how far he goes.
Rys - February 4, 2012
still
Want to see him gone if we have another first round exit. If he gets fired, party at my place.
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
And one other thing troubles me
Gallo’s streakiness. If he crushes it one half, he’s gone the next. He cruises through one game, and is invisible the next.
I hope these are just some growing pains we have to endure
KevinAwesome - February 4, 2012 via mobile
Eric Gordon
What are your guy’s thoughts about him?
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Is he even available?
CombatChuk - February 4, 2012
Three Games In Three Nights
Is Just Stupid. Should’ve been six games less this season
Talk about making a joke of your product
Way to go NBA
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
Well
he’s injured now, but i think he’s milking it cause he doesn’t want to be in NO. he already turned down an extension from the Hornets so they should try to trade him.
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
George is whining in the press conference
He just threw lawson under the bus.
georgekarl - February 4, 2012
As I said...
GK needs to start taking responsibility for some of these losses( as he should take credit for some of the wins). He has assets available, needs to UTILIZE them e.g. FARIED.
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
Hello
Agreed
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
Lawson
he was one of the very few that I thought played well tonight
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
George said
“Lawson looked lost out there”
georgekarl - February 4, 2012
George is the one that looks lost...
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
Well
GK was obviously not paying attention to the game like he always does.
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
I like Brewer
He is a keeper
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
Great interview.
He even knew KK stats
Long term huge find. Nice trade there.
Send miller, ruby and bird flying
Play stone and KF
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
Josh Smith
Trade Miller and Nene for J Smoove
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Done
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
IMO
Those are actually pretty good moves
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
my thoughts on this game:
fuck you nba.
Rainbow skyline - February 4, 2012
Ugh....
Not so disappointed that we lost the third game of a B2B2B, but there are troubling trends developing:
1) AAA – Looking absolutely lost and now has a BIG contract.
2) Nene – Still has not post offense to speak of, particularly against the better bigs in the West. Also has a BIG contract.
3) Faried – The Nuggs need energy players during this grueling 66 game schedule, and Manimal is instant energy. I don’t care if he makes a few mistakes – - the Nuggs desperately need energy players on the front line, particularly in back to backs. He continues to show an amazing knack for the ball in the minutes he does get. I don’t know if I can recall a first rounder not given a shot, particularly one as talented as Faried. Cmon Karl – - turn the Manimal Loose!
ACEIII - February 4, 2012
Louder, he can't hear you
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
WHAT ABOUT MANIMAL?
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
JR
Nuggs really miss JR. His offense at the 2-guard spot is exacty what the Nuggs are missing. He scored 60 the other night in China. Would anyone not take JR over AAA right now??
ACEIII - February 4, 2012
Pick your poison...
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
I seriously think we can trade AAA to the Clips
Or he is our new amnesty guy (if we can trade Bird)!
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
Possibly
I don’t know if the Clips would trade for him. I forgot about the amnesty. If somehow AAA stays here (hopefully not), and continues to stink up the joint, then we can amnesty him in the offseason. I would rather amnesty AAA then bird if he continues to play like this
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
George Karl Will
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
I would take JR but no chance he will come back to Denver
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
I like JR too much. I hope he stays far away from george karl
georgekarl - February 4, 2012
Maybe is Karl coaches The bobcats
We can resign JR
Is our assistant from Metro ready to be an NBA coach?
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
We need
A coach like Tom Thibodeau who knows something about defense. Too many open shots for Portland tonight
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
this, he is pretty much a one guy scorin punch off the bench.
affIaIo got too much credit for not bein jr, by ppl makin him out to be a consistent pIayer which he isnt, which i tried pointin out, but ppl say he stiI has upside, and whiIe he probabIy does have a IittIe, he is pretty much what he is. you cant compare his naturaI taIent to someone Iike jr.
Rys - February 4, 2012
aIso too much credit for not bein d. jones.
Rys - February 4, 2012
A-F'n-Men
B-ball minds know this….
mtnmagic22 - February 4, 2012
my moves
Trade Miller and Nene for J Smoove
Trade AAA, Bird, and a pick for Eric Gordon
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
I'm sold
Does that count?
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
When
I buy the team, i will name you co GM. We will bring an NBA championship to Denver.
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Thank you
You would be a great owner!
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
I would
By the moves I suggested this is what our rotations would look like.
Starting five
Mozgov
Josh Smith
Gallo
Eric Gordon
Lawson
Bench
Kofous
Faried
Harrington
Chandler
Stone
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
If I was Josh Kroenke
I would get a seat right behind the nuggets bench and heckle Karl when he tries to go small
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
You can't make either of those trades
Salaries don’t come close to matching up…
free7694 - February 5, 2012
If George kept doing the same old same old but
at least played the young guys more, especially when its a game that everyone is dog tired in he’ll rest the team better and they will have fewer injuries. How dumb can the guy be to not know that?
georgekarl - February 4, 2012
Not dumb, STUBBORN
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
He was whining about the b2b and how tired the players were
Yet he doesnt play the rested ones. I gotta go with dumb on this one.
georgekarl - February 4, 2012
Again, historically his rotations SUCK
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
B 2 B 2 B
Do we have any more this season?
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
No
We don’t have anymore. We already had our 2 which is ridiculous cause some teams only have one set of back to back to backs
TheMozgovCocktail - February 4, 2012
Hope not cause I'm already sick of that excuse!
BTW teams are above 500 in the third of B2B2B
Rockridge1 - February 4, 2012
Exactly..
chilly dog - February 4, 2012
the nuggets have played 2
how many of those other teams have played two sets so far?
