More rebounds less jumbotron watching
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
Moz loves to watch the Jumbotron when he’s on the sidelines, had a view of him watching it tonight on camera when showing old lady doing the splits.
Nate Timmons - February 6, 2012

Gr3yStreet - February 6, 2012

the new Bradfather - February 6, 2012
Wrong picture Nate
Anderson can’t play well in a Nuggets jersey that isn’t white.
CloudBurst - February 6, 2012

SDcat09 - February 6, 2012

sgiustra - February 6, 2012
Odds that we see J-Ham tonight?
Agaliarept - February 6, 2012
Highly unlikely
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
That has got to be the 4-5th comment asking about Jordan Hamilton
What’s up with that? Is he the second coming?
Fullback U - February 6, 2012
Why does there have to be anything weird?
We have 5 players injured/out and I’m wondering if he’ll get PT tonight?
Agaliarept - February 6, 2012
Sorry wasn't implying anything
I’m curious because I haven’t heard anything about him and wondered if I was missing something about him.
Fullback U - February 6, 2012
Well he's one of our first round picks.
I didn’t mean to be rude, just was kinda confused haha. Honestly though, I’m a huge fan of his, I think he could really be special. Lot of guys just haven’t gotten PT this season.
Agaliarept - February 6, 2012
shit shit shit
gallo
LaimbeersGuardianAngel - February 6, 2012
Oh man that could have been ugly
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
Don't be too hurt Gallo
Russscot - February 6, 2012
So how have they looked tonight?
Looking at the score this doesn’t exactly look like an offensive onslaught.
Gr3yStreet - February 6, 2012
god dammit
El Scorcho! - February 6, 2012
ANKLE BRACES FOR ALL!!!!!!!
CombatChuk - February 6, 2012

the new Bradfather - February 6, 2012
I hope this was a lot of cursing in Italian.
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
being the Mormon I am
I kept it clean, but maldizione means curse, as you probably guessed, still, I am profoundly disappointed
the new Bradfather - February 6, 2012

SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
Egli sarĂ bene signor
LaimbeersGuardianAngel - February 6, 2012

italian: la lingua degli angeli, or the language of the angels…. Snow was a prominent Mormon leader in the 1800s who served in Italy
the new Bradfather - February 6, 2012
Gallo is pissed..
CloudBurst - February 6, 2012
I dont know if Stone's shoes are actually that big
It really looks like he is running around with blue bricks on his feet.
Btbuff67 - February 6, 2012
4 fouls on K2 also.
How thin can we get?
Russscot - February 6, 2012
FFS...this sucks. I mean seriously.
WHY GOD WHY???!!!!!!
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
Why do teams with a lot of depth always get injured.
Look ta the Blazers a few years ago. Injury and injury. Maybe having an all-star negates injury free teams!
CloudBurst - February 6, 2012
It's just the basketball gods way of testing the "depth" theory
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
See if Ryan bowen can suit up
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
link pls?
nuggzfan - February 6, 2012
Like Hastings just said,
Houston is packing it in the lane. We’re gonna have to make some jump shots
Russscot - February 6, 2012
He isn't being assisted so he should be okay
KevinAwesome - February 6, 2012
We better get some uber Karma points for these mishaps.
Kevin L - February 6, 2012

Russscot - February 6, 2012
Sigh....I'm gonna need chocolate a lot earlier than usual
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012

El Scorcho! - February 6, 2012
This is the most unwatchable game of the year so far
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012

SDcat09 - February 6, 2012

TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012

SDcat09 - February 6, 2012

Russscot - February 6, 2012

TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Kevin Martin is at least as bad as Ginobli
Russscot - February 6, 2012
If by bad you mean excels at flopping I agree
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
Emmaneul GiFLOPPY
is the king of flops forever
the new Bradfather - February 6, 2012
Nuggets chose a bad game to have everyone foul out
We may be looking at serious Jordan Hamilton time at this rate.
Btbuff67 - February 6, 2012
There's no streakier player in the NBA than Rudy Fernandez
He blows a good chunk of the time, and sometimes catches fire.
zeusmith - February 6, 2012
Good foul
Knock him on his ass

More Kevin Martin falling down whenever anyone is in the same zip code as him

the new Bradfather - February 6, 2012

Phil H. - February 6, 2012
the Broncos will get better in 2012
give Tebow a full offseason with no stupid lockout, we’ll see what happens
the new Bradfather - February 6, 2012
The Nuggets will be better than the Broncos in 2012 and definitely in 2013
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
Broncos
They have the toughest schedule next season
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012

SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
ummm...can't make a basket.
I’d be happy if we were trading right now :p
Russscot - February 6, 2012
I'm out
see you stiffs in 6 weeks when Gallo comes back… till then it will be too depressing to watch him not be on the court
LaimbeersGuardianAngel - February 6, 2012

TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012

georgekarl - February 6, 2012
Powerful.
love4nuggets - February 6, 2012
I don't talk trash about him, but I do think his days are numbered :(
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
He's an athletic freak who got into the NBA because of it
It’s sad to say but when that starts to go it’s all downhill. I don’t hate on him, but the end is coming.
Fullback U - February 6, 2012
Start Faried for Gallo?
CombatChuk - February 6, 2012

Japheth:the.other.kind.of.asian. - February 6, 2012

All Day Jay - February 6, 2012
Penalty for the rest of the period
Russscot - February 6, 2012
Not that it will affect the players, but we fans have to believe this team will win
Or else it isn’t worth watching. Good fandom relies on that. The game is not out of hand.
Fullback U - February 6, 2012
i believe even with 4 starters out we can sstill beat dallas

because we just lost to a crappy team at HOME a place were supposed to win
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
but we didnt have our players
without our players, WE are the Crappy team
sgiustra - February 6, 2012
i'm pretty done with rudy
he can’t shoot at all
bbomb2333 - February 6, 2012
He's a great shooter!
He just can’t get it into that metal circle at the end of the court.
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
o good point...
bbomb2333 - February 6, 2012
this team int what we thought they were.. undermanned or not they cant shoot at all
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
Sorry guys, good night
the new Bradfather - February 6, 2012
Too many mistakes tonight
Bring on Dallas…
SD_Nugget_Fan - February 6, 2012
without gallo we wont beat them
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
We match up pretty good against Dallas
They can play some BAD defense and turnover the ball over.
SD_Nugget_Fan - February 6, 2012
10 missed foul shots
don’t help either
Rage McTurpentine - February 6, 2012
I hope work doesn't expect me to be very nice today
nugznazty - February 6, 2012
Its time to update the stiffs list
with actual stiffs from this team.
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
#1
The Denver Nuggets.
love4nuggets - February 6, 2012
Yes
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
Four of the starting line up out,
a plethora of missed foul shots, two for a billion on 3pt shooting, and playing against the floppiest team I’ve ever seen.
Russscot - February 6, 2012
Well...
It’s weird, but usually:
poor free throw shooting = legs
poor shooting = legs
poor 3 shooting = legs
poor defense = legs
turnovers (fatigue) = legs
It just seemed like there was no energy tonight except in Bird and Ty…. I’m not sure we are the big “running” team GK wants… Gallo – really tried to bring it until he got hurt…. And I never gave up on Bird and don’t know why everyone else did, but he played great…
Looked lazy or tired… don’t know which…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Bird played great tonight. I admit it.
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
turnovers have nothing to do with fatigue, just sloppy with the ball and its getting OLD
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
Turnovers come from lack of concentration
Concentration is frequently lacking from being tired… I’ve played.
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Karl
He needs to go. who’s with me?
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
had nothing to do with him
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
Not me...
Can’t pin this on him. Team had every chance to win.
djyoung71 - February 6, 2012
However
George’s ‘game plan’ is run run run.
Not the best plan for a dense season like this one.
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
This was not on Karl
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
Agree
players had no heart or concentration or FOCUS!
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Guess I'm the only one
oh well
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Tonight is a measure of Karl's skills
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
*is not a measure
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
Who comes up with the nuggets defensive schemes?
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Run
Gun
George is tiring out the team that is already tired with his silly play design.
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
This game might no be Karl's fault
but there have been many games that we can pin on him. I just don’t like his schemes
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Im in agreement
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
Moz...
There have been SEASONS we can pin on him! LOL – but tonight – it was just sloppy on the floor…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
LOL
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
Even better
That’s why I want him gone
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
I'm with you in general
but he was forced into a corner by circumstance tonight
RoxWS2014 - February 6, 2012
Bring in the Metro Roadrunners
Need some young rested people.
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
Rough rough loss.
When you are down as many players as the Nuggets are, you can’t win a game when you miss FTs and turn the ball over that much. Bad time for a sloppy game from the Nuggets.
You can tell the schedule is really impacting the Nuggets. I hope they survive, but it is becoming serious gut check time. Too many bad home losses. They one year the Nuggets are decent on the road and the aren’t dominating at home. Murphy’s law.
Rough game. Time for some soul searching. Wins and losses aside the Nuggets just need to execute better.
djyoung71 - February 6, 2012
Not on GK ( I still don't like him coaching)
but no one played like they wanted it – it’s ok to lose, but lose well..
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Contemplating
throwing something at the tv
love4nuggets - February 6, 2012
im sorry to say this and ill prob get nerd rage but there is no PG play on this nuggets team
ty has been worthless and miller isnt much better and when it comes to playing D with these 2 its not there i.e. miller rolling off Chase Budinger to help no one and he drills the game ending 3
cfact - February 6, 2012
I think we ask too much of our PG's
They looked tired tonight – they played hard – just slow….
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
This is starting to feell all too Rockies 2011 :(
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
okay, now that is really depressing..
bbomb2333 - February 6, 2012
Sorry I can't help it.
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
It is a tragedy to compare the Nuggets, even at their worse
To the Suckies.
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
My point is that we started out so great.
And then injuries and unexpectedly bad play doomed the season.
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
Yeah but baseball is the most boring 'sport' ever made.
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
Well that's really not the point here is it?
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
Damn dude, no need to get snippy
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
I don't think my response was snippy.
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
There it is again.
Damn!
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
Isn't it a little early to be saying we're doomed?
We’re still, like, 15-10. We don’t just permanently trend downward. The season’s going to be up-and-down.
neumdaddy - February 6, 2012
I'm not saying we're doomed.
Just saying it feels rather familiar.
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
Hopefully not too familiar.
The Nuggs have been a pretty successful franchise for almost a decade. I think we’ve still got a lot left to prove, and this team’s up to the task. Lotta season left…
neumdaddy - February 6, 2012
And really they aren't the suckies
and I’m not comparing. I’m drawing parallel.
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
Don't even
bring that disaster up
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Never say this again...
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
I would love to use fatigue as an excuse,
and yes, the team did look tired tonight. But every other team in the NBA is in the same boat this year. Gotta find a way to push through and execute. Not sure what the answer is
Russscot - February 6, 2012
B2B2B?
for every team?
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
every team has at least one.
And let’s look at say the Thunder. They played last night and tonight, have a day off, then play another b2b, have a day off, and another game. They still seem to have their legs, or are at least are finding a way to push through. Look, I’m not saying the team isn’t legitimately fatigued, or that it’s unreasonable to expect it to affect performance, what I’m saying is that we cannot use it as an excuse. We need to find a way to get past the fatigue and still execute as a basketball team.
Russscot - February 6, 2012
Thunder are built for this years schedule
It sucks but it is true!
SD_Nugget_Fan - February 6, 2012
I was just using them as an example.
My point is that every team is going to have fatigue/injury issues this year. If we want to be one of the teams left standing at the end, we need to find ways to overcome those issues.
Russscot - February 6, 2012
Rack "em Post of the Year!!!!
SD_Nugget_Fan - February 6, 2012
There are really only 2 guys I don't care for
on the Nuggets – AAA, and I have hope that he’ll be ok and Rudy. Rudy is a train wreck – I love his heart and attitude, but if Chandler comes back, he has to go…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Finally someone who agrees with me about AAA
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
my original
6-9 record for the Nuggets feb record looks too generous now. ; (
tough night for stiffs fans
not_karl - February 6, 2012
Dear Nuggets,
(Stephen A. Smith voice) MAKE YOUR DAMN FREE THROWS
Signed,
free
free7694 - February 6, 2012
after these losses, im just hoping to make the playoffs.
moonchild808 - February 6, 2012
Why, so we can get embarrased like the Broncos did?
No thanks!
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
*sigh... this is depressing
moonchild808 - February 6, 2012
Yeah,
let’s not take a chance at success because we might look terrible if we fail.
Russscot - February 6, 2012
There is no chance at success
Only at suckcess
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
keep up that attitude, and it won't matter that you scored perfect on the SAT
Russscot - February 6, 2012
LOL
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
If they make the playoffs they will likely have a full roster and will be one damn dangerous team
never root for your team not to be in the playoffs, ridiculous. And the Broncos had an awesome game against Pitt, worth getting blown out against NE
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
I'm holding out hope
but do we tank and try to get a good draft pick
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
If gallo is out for a while.. say bye to the playoffs
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
yeah agreed
nugznazty - February 6, 2012
Ugh, enough of this woe-is-me nonsense.
neumdaddy - February 6, 2012
so galo's out forever??
nugznazty - February 6, 2012
We don't know yet
They’re going to do more tests tomorrow, and then we’ll have a more clear idea.
Russscot - February 6, 2012
There goes the season
And we got our deep bench questions answered: not really, just a few rookies and so-so guys. Not really happy right now fuck.
tknuckle - February 6, 2012 via mobile
5 guys were out by the 3rd quarter
not sure how that speaks against depth
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
More "maybe's "
Maybe the rest of the league has played themselves into shape and that nice running edge the Nuggets enjoyed early in the season has diminished… looked like it tonight…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
or
maybe karl should come up with a different strategy if said running idea stops working…like in the past 3 games
not_karl - February 6, 2012
well...
I think we need to run, but sometimes (tonight) I think Karl doesn’t call a time out thinking that the other team will get tired out – but doesn’t see that OUR guys are also getting tired – early on when it was back and forth, it looked like the Nugs were as tired as Houston…. and later too…. a time out at… I think it 5:25 would have helped…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
No legs
Look at all the shots that were short
The_WJM - February 6, 2012
just so many of our starters out.... sad zone-- ah well later yalls
nugznazty - February 6, 2012
Dear David Stern:
FUCK YOU.
Love, Jay Hart
love4nuggets - February 6, 2012
Hopefully AAA and Nene can be back against Dallas
Brewer needs to take as much time as he needs, Moz maybe within a week. Chandler could be back from China within two weeks. Just have to hope to get it somewhat together for the next few weeks and they can still be OK.
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
Dismal
3-22 from the beyond the arc
19-33 from the free throw line
20 turnovers
14 assists
Not going to win a game with numbers like that.
The_WJM - February 6, 2012
Ya...
I am going to claim fatigue/lazy/focus…. Good for Bird – came out and fought for his spot and himself….
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
also fought for better trade value which is what he should be used for
cfact - February 6, 2012
Bird played like he had something to prove tonight
The_WJM - February 6, 2012
Made your FTs and hang on to the ball
Nuggets win by 25!
SD_Nugget_Fan - February 6, 2012
I was right earlier
This game sucked more than the New Orleans game
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Come on Moz...
We were dinged up bad tonight… and Cory was gone…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
No it sucked more because gallo got hurt
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
We started 2 rookies guys...
Nene was out, bench dinged up… Moz out… plus they shot the crap out of the ball which we haven’t acknowledged – defense was shaky, but they drilled a lot of 3’s – damn good shooting night for them..
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
You're missing the point
we lost Gallo for a month and a half. It does suck
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
We don't know yet how long he'll be out. It hurts for sure, but let's wait for the report
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
ok you wait for the report cat
still sucks though
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Of course it sucks. But maybe he won't be out as long as that is all I'm saying.
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
ok
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
ya...let's hope he just rolled it bad
but comes back soon…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Hopefully
he’s out only a week or a couple
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Well when you lose gallo for presumably 6 weeks
It does suck worse than the Hornets game
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
I think our loss to the Clippers was the worst.
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
Debatable, i agree that the loss hurt, but gallos injury hurts alot more
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
No
At least we didn’t lose anybody that game
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Faried...
It was really interesting watching Faried – he had some good moments, but a few times I just had to think “welcome to the NBA” – good opportunity for him to get some time…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Sometimes he's like an out of control puppy
All eager and big pawed
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
LOL - he loves being out there, that's for sure!
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
And then he goes careening off walls and sliding around corners.
amirite?
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
I thought the kid did alright
18 mins 6 pts 8 rebounds 1 block and ZERO turnovers
The_WJM - February 6, 2012
I'm just saying his style of play is like a big
eager to please, having all the fun, big pawed puppy.
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
So was Masai on the fence about making a move before
and now does he do it?
CombatChuk - February 6, 2012
Ya he has to do it now... no gallo whos going to fill in? brewer? no thanks
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
I think
Masai needs to make a move. We can’t wait for Will to come back in Mid march
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Rasheed Wallace?
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
He won't sacrifice the future of the team for the very short term
I think signing Will has just become an even much bigger priority. Maybe he can package Bird with Rudy for something of value
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
Get some cheap one season vets
How about Finley
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
Isn't he like 80 years old
with a walker?
Russscot - February 6, 2012
I thnk so :)
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Yeah but ..
georgekarl - February 6, 2012
Michael finley?
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
He better have Chandler's new contact ready!
SD_Nugget_Fan - February 6, 2012
Man, we are really hurting at the 2 guard spot...
Let’s not go back into the JR discussion, but damn, I wish we had him – JR’s craziness made him impervious to game tempo and “momentum” – he just shot the damn lights out – I thought Ty played like a solid pro tonight… – when he and Andre have the ball, I just felt like something good would happen – Rudy scares the crap out of me!
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
JR was a durable mofo, if nothing else.
love4nuggets - February 7, 2012
Gallo being hurt reeeeeaaaaaalllllyyyy depressed me
Jeffrey Morton - February 6, 2012
Shows how important he is to the team
Jeffrey Morton - February 6, 2012
You could say the same about AAA and Nene
ah what a clusterfuck
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
Ya... interesting how folks were willing to put him on the bench...
if he missed a few shots and now he’s the franchise :)
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
I never suggested putting him on the bench
I would call him the franchise…yes
Jeffrey Morton - February 6, 2012
I think franchise players can have bad nights and need to sit.
Melo had them too
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
I've been a gallo supporter all along
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Jeff
It depressed us all
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
So Say We All
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
I think that pretty much everyone here shares that sentiment
Russscot - February 6, 2012
no one stepped up.
koufos sucked, a coupIe of nice pIays, but too many fouIs took him out of the game. someone teII him when you are 5ft away from the rim, dont spin to your back and post, and go up and dunk it. nice bIocks tho.
miIIer pIayed weII. aI decent, but jr wouId have at Ieast made 1 of 2 fts. ty sIoppy and not abIe to step it up in the crunch.
faried pIayed weII, Iots to Iike, his offensive game isnt that great tho, gotta work on his hands. fernandez up and down, andersen pIayed weII if karI wouId have controIIed his pt before no one wouId be compIaining about him.
gaIIo goin out. lnjured again.
if we re sign chandIer instead of jr, that’s goin to be a huge mistke. jr wouId easiIy be the 1st option on this team, i dont want to Iose any more taIented pIayers because of the coach, we can pay jr way more than what other teams can.
we payed nene, who doesnt show up Iate in games and on b2bs, affIaIo who onIy showed he’s competent in makin open shots for a season and a haIf, gaIIo who’s got lnjury issues with his styIe of pIay and stiII Iacks skiII offensiveIy. pay jr, at Ieast we know what we are goin to get with him more than any of these other guys. if he gets to pIay he is goin to put up 20 ppg easiIy, and probabIy 7 rebs and 5 assists at about 32 min. you guys Iike to project gaIIo and affIaIo when with jr you can actuaIIy make those cIaims with way more reason.
Rys - February 6, 2012
ya...
but Koufos kinda disappeared there in the second half when I thought they could have used him… he played pretty well for only having limited minutes this season… and we no JR isn’t coming back to Denver – unless it’s to beat us in another uniform… we are coming back to the “average” pack – the season’s going to be a dogfight – but that is what we expected – we kinda got off to a start that wasn’t expected….
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Rys...
We’re JR junkies, but it’s over dude :)
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
He would
if we could trade Karl to China. After the embarassing shooting over the past few games, I might take that deal
paterade - February 6, 2012
trade him to dizneyIand, where his ldeaIism may actuaIIy work.
Rys - February 6, 2012
weII our gm is supposed to be inteIIigent, but if he pays chandIer instead of jr, im goin to have to dis agree.
we can pay him 8 miI or more, other teams can onIy pay him 2.5 miI, too much money difference.
Rys - February 6, 2012
Here's George...
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
How can you make those claims with more reason?
JR has been in the league way longer than Gallo and has never shown those type of numbers.
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
what... yea he has, he's shown way more.
Rys - February 6, 2012
When the hell has JR ever shown he can be a 20ppg player?
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
When has he gotten those type of minutes
in a Nuggies uniform
paterade - February 6, 2012
There's a reason for that
his erratic play, of course everything is blamed on Karl and JR gets a free pass. I think it’s ludicrous to claim with certainty that JR will put up numbers he has never gotten close to putting up all of a sudden.
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
Just looked it up
Per 36 minutes of play, JR Smith has averaged over 19.8 points 4 times in his career
paterade - February 6, 2012
That's based of assumptions
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
No that's stats,
But the we all agree AAA looks great projecting minutes and doesn’t – we’ll see when the kicks meet the wood in a few weeks :)
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
AAA also does other things much better
but it’s not a decision between AAA and JR, one is on the team with a contract and one isn’t
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
What JR has shown
is that he has the ability to put up 30 on any given night. He also has the ability to shoot 1-20 and not stop shooting.
Russscot - February 6, 2012
I wish Gallo would be like that :)
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
The current squad
has also shown they can shoot 3-22 and not quit shooting. I’d rather have that 30 point night every other
paterade - February 6, 2012
If it were every other night, sure ;)
But it wasn’t
Russscot - February 6, 2012
JR costs you at least as many games as he wins you
free7694 - February 6, 2012
that's such a Iie, when did you start foIIowin this team, do you just hear other ppI taIk and not watch games.
when has jr shot 1 for 20. ppI have bad shootin games, but when jr has one it’s Iike oh that’s just jr. besides jr’s improved other parts of his game Iike rebs, defense, and pIay makin where doesnt have to shoot weII to be effective.
Rys - February 6, 2012
I started following this team in the days of LaPhonso Ellis
I’m betting you jumped on the bandwagon when Melo showed up…
JR was invisible or detrimental to the team pretty damn often during his time in Denver. He has his moments, that’s for sure, but there are plenty of times where I was like “Damn, please never let him play again.”
free7694 - February 6, 2012
Absolutely
his talent is undeniable but it has not translated into him being a compete NBA player. Let’s not forget all of the baggage he comes with as well
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
he's pretty compIete, his defense is decent when he tries, and he does try now.
he can pass, dribbIe, shoot from anywhere, post up, make cIutch shots, bIock shots, take chrges, get steaIs, run the fIoor. but other guys get a pass on this team for not bein abIe to do haIf as much as that.
Rys - February 6, 2012
We took a poll...
Most Stiffs like JR and feel he could fill the bill – but we admit that with GK here, no JR ever – so we can move on…. We’ll see what he does when he comes back to the NBA in 2-3 weeks for someone else…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Good for your poll
I still disagree, I don’t care if I’m in the minority, I think his time away has made people overvalue how good he actually is.
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
And you love Tebow too :)
It’s all good…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
That is completely irrelevant
and I don’t love Tebow, I have nothing against him and want him to do well because I’m a Broncos fan, but I much rather have a better QB running the team
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
We're debating over something that isn't gong to happen...
I’m just saying I love to watch JR play and look forward to his return to the NBA soon… Artest – I mean World Peace!
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
He's fun to watch
but not the solution to the Nuggets woes, he’s had too many years here to prove otherwise. Give Chandler a shot and improve the team through a much more likely scenario seeing he is a RFA.
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
that's a Iie, when he's got oppurtunities, jr has come up big for this team Iike against OKC in the pIayoffs.
and aIso Iast season when the offense was bad, it was jr who got it goin. when meIo was out for games, jr came in and easiIy repIaced his scorin. for the previous coupIe of seasons before that, when the team struggIed in the 1st haIf of the season, and went on a run down the stretch to make the pIayoffs, it was jr who carried them with his huge pIay off the bench.
Rys - February 6, 2012
One example
about a series the Nuggets lost 4-1. Not going to change my mind. It’s an opinion, it can’t factually be proven to be a lie.
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
yea and that's the onIy game he got pt in. at Ieast he won a game for this team, where the resst of the team is 0 fer against OKC.
Rys - February 6, 2012
Give it up Rys..
It’s like the tebow syndrome – personality overshadows performance – true ballers know….
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
just sayin karI Iost games by pIayin kobe feIton, and he chucked them out of games.
but somehow he stiII gets more Ieeway than jr.
Rys - February 6, 2012
Hilarious
Karl gets so much shit on this site while JR gets far less. Felton is hated by us all really. And btw Lawson had 27 points in game 4, he was pretty damn key too,
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
*game 3
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
Oh nvm it was game 4
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
yea, but who won the game for the team when it was on the Iine Iate.
Rys - February 6, 2012
Just saying, Ty was just as important
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
are you sayin karI shouIdnt get fIack.
ppI Iike feIton and wanted to re sign him before the pIayoffs, same with chandIer.
Rys - February 6, 2012
No I'm saying it shouldn't be one sided
both deserve flack. I still want Chandler back, one playoff series won’t make me ignore his abilities. Felton just sucks. If JR comes back I won’t be bothered, rather have Chandler though. And JR isn’t happening quite frankly.
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
k, i dont want chandIer back, I feeI we have a bunch of soIid compIimentary pIayers on this team, and dont want to 8miI a season for another one.
I feeI that chandIers stats wouId onIy decIine here, and his trade vaIue wouId onIy get Iower. I feeI we couId reaIIy use a guy who other teams have to guard and someone who can make pIays for others and make great passes other than miIIer on this team. i rather have jr’s attitude than chandIers im afk attitude.
we are gonna win more games here and be a more improved team with jr here than chandIer. chandIers repIaceabIe, jr not so much, ppI taIk about guys Iike thornton and crawford, but they dont have the compIete game that jr has.
Rys - February 6, 2012
Jesus?
georgekarl - February 7, 2012
when he 1st got here, and got decent pt in games where he pIayed more than 20 min before the NYK brawI, he avg 18.7 ppg.
he avg 15 ppg in 27.7 min for a coupIe of seasons, comin off the bench. and oh yea’s he’s aIso got eIite offensive skiIIs, eIite shot makin abiIity, is un guardabIe reaIIy when he gets goin, exceIIent handIes, has post up moves has so many moves off the dribbIe can adjust on his drives and make pIays happen with his eIite athIeticism.
yea jr couId easiIy avg 20 ppg. gaIIos not that great so far, i see way more taIent in jr other than bein 6’10, the onIy thing that gaIIo has shown me here from NYK is he’s more buIky and soIid, and can drive to the rim more.
Rys - February 6, 2012
Damn - I thought I was the JR fanatic out here :0
Glad to have another crazy with me – I’m just glad he’s going to be back in the league! I was worried he’d lose the entire year and lose his edge….
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
JR
With what I’ve seen this season, I’m down for bringing JR back. I miss his energy and the excitement he brought
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
I want JR to come back
Can someone tell me where our scoring is going to come from if Gallo is out awhile?
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
yo i watched too many seasons of caIbert, Ieonard, and etc... so when the team traded for jr who i wanted before the draft, i was Iike yea, our sg probIems are no more.
and when he pIayed so weII before the NYK brawI, that onIy made my point more.
Rys - February 6, 2012
I remember the Lakers playoff series
When he almost pulled it out by himself. He was awesome to watch. Wish Karl would have given him half as much slack as he did Melo
paterade - February 6, 2012
I sit often in disbelief..
And watch Rudy jack up crap and last year I about threw my TV out the window watching Ray Felton shoot us out of games while JR caught the crap – ahhhhh!! I’m having a flashback and it’s DEPRESSING!!!
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Here here
You could replace Rudy with Anthony Carter, Chauncey Billups, Gary Forbes, Aron Afflalo, Allen Iverson. They all took just as bad or worse shots and were poster boys. Never quite got how Karl made the distinction
paterade - February 6, 2012
Rotations
So what do you guys think our rotations will look like when we play Dallas?
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
You, me, and Morton off the bench
Russscot - February 6, 2012
I could help too...
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Lawson, Miller, Rudy, Stone and Harrington at Center
paterade - February 6, 2012
No, he hasn't
free7694 - February 6, 2012
There is no way in flerking hell we will, or should even consider, JR for this team
He’s out. The (extended) trial had some success. But it’s over. He can score 60 points in China, but he’s still going to be hot and cold in the NBA. No thanks.
neumdaddy - February 6, 2012
Fleurking hell.
This needs to be a thing.
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
JR is one Fleurking of a shooter!! LOL
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Nah...it's gotta be fleurking hell together.
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
i wouId take jrs shootin against anyone on this team, ppI tried to say fernandez couId repIace jrs outside shooting yea... no.
jr’s not nash, but he’s stiII a Iot more consistent than ppI make him out to be, he’s more consistent that affIaIo, gaIIo, aI, pretty much anyone on this team.
Rys - February 6, 2012
You could safely take jr's shooting against...
most players in the NBA :) It comes down to personallity – some folks can’t get past who he is – some of us appreciate it, others can’t stand it – like Ali (who I loved) – people ignore their talent and base opinion on personality. I said this on a past thread – I’m sure Tebow is a great guy – to me he sucks as a quarterback – and just because he’s a great guy, does NOT make him a great QB – JR, to some folks, rubs them wrong – so they say he is a bad player… hmmm…. sounds like SPORTS FANS!
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Also Chauncey Billups really hurt his achillies tonight
possible career ending injury
Depressing
Jeffrey Morton - February 6, 2012
aw no!????!!!!
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Now the Clippers will definitely pursue JR
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
'didn't think of that....
Ya, I hope JR goes there – they’ll give him room to play :)
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
That;s the most realistic spot for him
and the best spot
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Bummer for CB1
SD_Nugget_Fan - February 6, 2012
The JR Smith ship has sailed
I would rather have Chandler than Rudy
The_WJM - February 6, 2012
Why does it have to be one or the other?
We waived Demarre and have a roster spot open
Russscot - February 6, 2012
Ya... ya gotta like Rudy's effort...
and demeanor, but he just isn’t quite what we need – and DAMN he gets a lot of minutes!!!!
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Rudy
He needs to his his free htrows. hell tthey all do
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
How long would the Rudy Fernandez 2011 highlight reel be?
5 seconds maybe?
paterade - February 6, 2012
Rudy highlight reel
That tip in against the clippers. That is all
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
umm...ally oop to Faried?
Russscot - February 6, 2012
ok
so two plays. not very long highlight reel
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
didn't he have a game where he made like 4 treys in a row?
(not really trying to be a Rudy apologist :p)
Russscot - February 6, 2012
Idk
maybe just saying those two plays would probably be it so far
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Why are we mad at rudy? he was 5-13 14 points... harrington was 5-16
and took some ill advised shots… nonetheless both need to play better.. mostly rudy
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
I'm not mad at Rudy
someone brought up his highlight reel and I could only see two plays being in it
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
No hate
Just wish he would make wide open shots like he did against us when he was in Portland
paterade - February 6, 2012
Everyone
makes wide open shots against us because our scheme sucks
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
Haha
Wish we had two seven footers so we wouldn’t have to double all the time… oh wait
paterade - February 6, 2012
Just a question, how long do ankle chips usually last for?
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
No idea...I think it has a lot to do with if it's displaced or not.
They’re doing a CTscan on Tuesday to get a more definitive view.
Russscot - February 6, 2012
We scored only 52 points after the first quarter
at home? Now that’s depressing!
SD_Nugget_Fan - February 6, 2012
"chips" not long
Fractures – 4-6 weeks – where bone pulls away with tendon…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Lost in the first half??!?!!?
Bullsh!t.
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Huh?
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
George said we lost the game in the first half...
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
He's right
they could have been up 15 in the 1st
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
Ya they did, they had a chance to be up 10-12-14 points but kept turning it over
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
Ya - but we were in the game...
It was the second half where it all folded up…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
In fact - NO game is over in the first half...
That’s why I don’t like GK – ADJUST and WIN instead of thinking like that….
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
we shoulda been up 15, shouldnt have been a 4th quarter game
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
You could say that about 10 other games as well
as there is this call for “someone to win it for us at the end” – lots of games shouldn’t be close – but 1 half never determines a game… I don’t think the players felt like that walking into the locker room…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Most of those teams arent as bad as the rockets
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
What about the third quarter when they went 0-10
paterade - February 6, 2012
If Kobe had a chip
it would magically be in a place where he doesn’t miss any games.
Phil H. - February 6, 2012
I'm starting to wonder if Gallo is injury prone
Last year he was banged up and ineffective as well
CombatChuk - February 6, 2012
hes been pretty tough this year.. taken alot of shots... bound to happen sometime
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
Gallo has played the most minutes
of anyone on the team this year. More playing time, more risk of injury.
The_WJM - February 6, 2012
A chip fracture of the foot is not an indication of being injury prone
If you saw the replay Parsons stepped on his foot while it was bent. Freak accident
Jeffrey Morton - February 6, 2012
jeff do u expect a trade?
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
National attention
I liked when we were flying under the radar and nobody was paying attention to us. When the national media began to give us some props, that’s when things took a turn for the worse.
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
ZOMG It must be related!
neumdaddy - February 6, 2012
Awww Rudy tweets
I think he likes being a Nugget
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
That's nice
TheMozgovCocktail - February 6, 2012
As I said, I like Rudy, his energy, his effort...
But… I was thinking he’s kind of a “tweener” – not quite and NBA’er and too good for international – tough spot…
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
" an NBA'er"
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
sweet
Albafica - February 6, 2012
Really cute.
Now make a fucking shot!!!!!!!!!!!
love4nuggets - February 7, 2012
Looks like we might be tied with Portland by the end of the night.
up 4 on the Thunder
Russscot - February 6, 2012
Wow. Scott Foster just made the worst call I've ever seen.
Called a goaltend in the last 10 seconds to tie the game, when it was not (admittedly it was close, but you can’t make that call).
Russscot - February 6, 2012
Can't let OKC lose you know
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
last years game 1 ring a BELL
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
Only a little
SDcat09 - February 6, 2012
I don't like them...
But the Thunder are TOUGH!!!
mtnmagic22 - February 6, 2012
Really depressing to see gallo hurt... he has some nice post up moves.. very nice
5baker5 - February 6, 2012
