Nuggets rookie forward Kenneth Faried finished the game with 10 points on 4-4 shooting (2-2 free throws), 14 rebounds (5 offensive), 2 steals, and 3 blocks in 36 big time minutes. In his rebounding duel with Kevin Love, Faried won it 14-13 (Love played 48 minutes) and helped ensure the win for the Nuggets, 103-101 in overtime. As my colleague Jeff Morton texted me after the game, "All things considered ... great win." Agreed.
The Nuggets lose a close one in Oklahoma City. After being up late, Denver once again fails to close out a dangerous team, allows things to get to overtime, and get beat 124-118.
Although this game for most observers may go down as a miraculous put back from a Rudy Gay miss by the Grizzlies' Dante Cunningham. The Nuggets may have found something more important. Their collective spine.
Nuggets lose 103-102 in Memphis.
The Nuggets went into Dallas and got flat out run tonight. You can use the excuse of the second of a back-to-back and injuries if you want, but this was a bad effort. Denver goes down to Dallas again (2-1 on the season in the Mavs favor) 102-84 and if not for Denver's end of the bench guys ... it would have been a lot worse.
After what seemed to be an eternity, the Denver Nuggets finally break their five game losing streak by defeating the Indiana Pacers tonight 113-109. Led by a fantastic effort by Corey Brewer, Ty Lawson and Arron Afflalo the Nuggets are back on the winning track.
The Mavericks were looking for some revenge tonight and they got it with a 105-95 win over the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets couldn't get out of their own way in this one with too many turnovers and too many missed opportunities ...
The team that was built to take advantage of the NBA's lockout-shortened season has suddenly become it's latest victim. A combination of fatigue, injuries and awful execution against the Houston Rockets just handed the Nuggets their first three-game losing streak of 2011-12, and their fifth loss in six games.
