Steve Perrin of Clips Nation fired three questions my way about your Denver Nuggets and one about a familiar face:
SP: Kenyon Martin has been a Clipper for seven games. He was a Nugget for seven years. What can you tell us about what the team should expect to get from KMart?
Benjamin Hochman of the Denver Post has a FANTASTIC feature story up about Masai Ujiri today in the Post. It's a must read for Nuggets fans, so click right here and go read it. A small sample,
"I sit in those GM meetings and look across the room — you see Larry Bird, Danny Ainge, all these guys who you've read about," Ujiri said at a recent lunch at Sushi Sasa. "Am I in awe? Honestly I am, because of the opportunity life has given me..."
Of all the bizarre things I thought might happen during this lockout-shortened 2011-12 NBA season, I never foresaw the Nuggets being substantially better on the road than at home.
As many of you know, I'm a big fan of the Nuggets young Russian center Timofey Mozgov. While his play on the court has been a bit up-and-down this season, my support of him has been consistent. To honor his Russian heritage and show our support of him my friend Rory and I have designed some T-shirts with the slogan, "Mozgov Militia" on them. I'll be giving away a very limited amount of the shirts here on Denver Stiffs and on Colorado Sports Guys ... stay tuned and be sure to follow me on Twitter so you don't miss out. Go Nuggets! In what some in the media are calling Monday Bloody Monday, last night, several NBA players went down with mild to severe injuries in one single night. Including a certain 6'10" Italian who's value to the team will be played out in front of Nuggets fans in the coming weeks.
Not a lot going on here ... just waiting for the Nuggets at Clippers game this evening. Al Harrington talks with Benjamin Hochman about the team's recent losses against the Clippers and Grizzlies, read it all here. Did you hear J.R. Smith scored 60 points in the Chinese Basketball League the other night? He was 14-18 from beyond the arc, check out the video highlights here. Find a good hoops story or something a bit different? Post it in the comment section for all to read and chit-chat about!
Before the Nuggets face the Grizzlies in Memphis tonight, let's take a look at what else is going on in the NBA. Timofey Mozgov may no longer be featured, this season, in every Blake Griffin highlight and the Colorado Sports Guys answer, "What if Billups was still in Denver?"
The ghost of Chauncey Billups has been haunting two franchises all season and now we can add a third to that list - our Denver Nuggets.
